I can not express how valuable this series is to a brand new sewer. I am 51 and decided I want to sew. I have been crafting since I was a little girl, taught myself everything to do with cricut and now picked up a Brother cs7205. Not knowing anything I have been learning my machine. My daughter says "mom will you make me a quilt for all my t-shirts from all the years I was in drama club?" My other daughter got engaged last week and she says "mom get good so you can make my wedding dress"🙀. Here we go. Thank you very much for your time and experience!

Hi, I hope you had a wonderful day. I just got to sit and get my hand quilting so I can watch your video! I hope you have a delightful week ahead! Thank you for sharing this video.

So helpful! Working with knits in a quilt feels intimidating and this series is making t shirt quilting feel truly achievable! Also just want to compliment you on the actual completed quilts that you have stacked behind you - not just bolts of fabric. That's so inspiring! I tend to make crafts as gifts and rarely keep them for myself. I bet my studio space will have a totally different vibe when it is full of completed projects and not just fabric and craft supplies 😅

I think it is better to iron the interfacing block to the tee shirt before you cut that block to size. You want to prevent the edges of tee shirt from rolling.

Absolutely! Some people prefer doing that!

This is the way I was taught. A tiny bit of waster on the interfacing but soooo much easier and stress free in the end.

When ironing on interfacing to t-shirts, would it be okay to fuse (iron) interfacing to t-shirt and then cut out the t-shirt square with my 12.5” template?

You mentioned to use a dry iron when fusing the tshirt . what setting is best to put your iron on , cotton ? Also I have a t-shirt 100% cotton pressing cloth . can I use that instead ? I am enjoying watching this newer version series of the T shirt quilt making .

The interfacing I have used before always has a specific temperature recommendation in the manufacturer instructions. Screen printing ink would *definitely* stick to q cotton pressing cloth - I would try parchment paper/baking paper from the kitchen instead. Also perhaps test your planned ironing technique on a scrap piece of t shirt beforehand

What kind of interfacing do you use? Do you use “light” or “medium”, does it matter if it’s “woven” or not. Thanks! Your link is broken.

My daughter has asked me to make a quilt out of my granddaughter’s baby clothes, most of the fabrics are stretchy, any hints you can give me ? I have only made 3 quilts so far !

That's wonderful! And everyone starts somewhere! It sounds like this whole Tshirt class would be very helpful to you! Also check out our Beginner Quilting course for more information.

Help. In a hurry I fused interfacing on the wrong side right on the logo of the tshirt I’m having a hard time getting it off especially on the black part of logos. Anyone havens had this happen

Uhhmmm this technique is a little too tedious, isn't it much simpler and faster to lay the t-shirt rough cut block down on parchment paper and put some pellon fusible over the back and fuse, then cut the block to the needed size??
