9:50 that's the simple truth. Guy on the right is big and strong, you can't give his same swing to a physical body like the golfer on the left, it just wont work!! You need serious muscles to go so high in the backswin AND keep it wide. Because if you dont keep it wide, then it will just create more speed if you do less backswing. There's a point of diminishing returns for a backswing and every player must find out his personal one to create maximum possible speed for his body.

I've been doing Rypstick combined with Fit For Golf strength training this year (age 63) and I've gotten up to 94 mph CHS (I was at 80 pre-training) on Rypradar, but my best actually hitting balls is 92 mph. Best ball speed I can recall was 126. I've had to be careful with the training because it tends to aggravate an old shoulder injury. My goal is to get to 100 CHS, shoulder permitting.

That's just a myth!! Trust me I've been playing golf for decades... right eye dominant thing is a myth, unless you let the myth take over you then it will be true. Hmmm…not really understanding the purpose of this video. I’m a Rypstick customer and currently at the end of Level 1 and have gained about 5 mph and I’m happy about that. The guy in this video is obviously swinging out of his shoes and (imo) has lost control of his driver. I’m all about distance but not for losing control. If you’re saying I can create club head speed doing the things I’m seeing in this video what’s the point of getting the Rypstick?
@jacobwiebe374511 ай бұрын
If you can raise your top speed that will also raise your base line speed. I'm at 93 mph swing speed now and working on getting it up to at least 100. When I get there I'll work strike for the "new swing".
@jimralston47899 ай бұрын
Learning how to raise your baseline speed comes first. Then you learn how to control that speed. Of course more speed can lead to a bit of a wider dispersion because you will end up a little more towards the edge of the fairway than a slower ball speed even on the same degree of miss. But its been shown though that the extra distance gained is usually worth it unless you totally lose your swing and are racking up penalty shots instead of just finding a little more rough than before.

If I try to speed up my hands I can get up to 102 mph clubhead speed, but totally no control of the club on the downswing at all and will either glance the ball or hit the ground first with the club. It works fine for these guys, but not for me. I have been golfing for 45 years and have improved, but not what these guys do. I am a strong guy also. I have huge endurance also. This video does not help me at all!☹

There's two parts to the equation. Your ability to swing fast. And then also the ability to strike it int he middle of the club face. Separating those two can be helpful when training.
