thank you! Using the resources readily available to us was super handy (and cheap!) I can't even imagine what the cost would have been if we had tried to purchase some cedar to make our terraces right now with lumber prices the way they are!

With all the trees around the property, there's no need to "add mulch and compost". Just rake the leaves up about a 1' thick on the bare ground, and let nature do it's thing. Leaves are solid gold when it comes to building soil quality and complexity, and they're free!
