I had the same incident with 1 of my drill bits, (a gold plated) & yes from kupa. all I did was contact them & told them it didn't fit my mani pro. they sent another 1 but silver plated, which did fit. love your nails btw

Pretty:) I always wonder why some techs build up the free edge with white or color /glitter it's so much more work when you go to do the fill you pretty much have to file everything away and start from the beginning to build up the nail again

Please help! I've been having an issue with my gel overlays. I follow all the correct steps and use good products. But for some reason I keep having lifting at the free edge. And it happens as soon as the next day! Any tips or tricks on how to fix this? Thank you so much! I've asked so many people and I haven't received a response yet. :( Love your work!

Always make sure you cap the edge. I have had that problem too because my nails are very strong they tend to pull away at the corners. Another tip is to gently go under the free edge with an efile to thin out the natural nail underneath.

Great tutorial!! I recently got my nails done by an amazing new guy. I had acrylic but bc they were lifting any growing bacteria in between he removed the acrylics and did them with a powder. He put liquid on then dipped them into colored powder. Then he did a cat eye effect. Is what he did considered gel? its a black powder and I want to change the base color. Thanx for your help.

Angela Atwell No, the liquid and powder is acrylic. Hard gel is a gel consistency, no powder involved.

If you mean he put liquid on your nail and then dipped your finger in powder that is a dip system. Which is also acrylic. Usually the liquid is a resin(glue) and then your nail is dipped into acrylic powder. That is still not hard gel.

I am new to all things nails... can you explain the difference between a "refill" and a "color change?"

Well if someone was just doing a “color change” then they would just be getting the old color removed and a new color put on. No filling in the new growth and reshaping/shortening, no cuticle work nothing. Literally just changing the color. A fill includes all that, so they would be getting what has grown out filled in with product (like acrylic or hard gel), cuticle work, reshaping etc. plus a new color or design. Hope that makes sense!

+Dat Boi You only have to get fills if you want to keep your nails ☺️ otherwise they will just keep growing out. (But the longer you go without a fill the more prone the nails would be to things like lifting or breaking) Getting your nails done should never hurt, if it does then the tech is doing something wrong, it should be fun and never painful.

+Lesly Martinez Yes you can! They make matte gel top coats or you can use a regular gel top coat and then buff them with a very fine grit buffer to a matte finish. :)

Hello, most manufacturers recommend curing for 2 minutes in a 36Watt lamp (a lamp with 4 9watt bulbs). If you only have one 9watt bulb you may need to cure it longer, but there is a possibility of it being under cured. I would check with the manufacturer to see what they recommend.

Senorita1982 The Young Nails protein bond is actually a non-acid primer not a bonder, the name is a little misleading. So I applied a primer then bonder. I prefer the Light Elegance Cosmetic Pink builder gel :)

+Annie Ganeva All bits get sanitized in a high level hospital grade disinfectant. They never get used from one person to the next with out proper cleaning and sanitization. Also sanding bands get thrown away after every person and never reused. The same goes for all other metal tools used like a cuticle pusher or nippers.
