I use X-Bond when I'm using any of the Trinity colors, not the clear. For some reason, I get lifting, although slight, it definitely stops that.

omg I didn't know I could file down the bulk of the charms! so not all are fileable though - like, the lovely paper type of charms of leaves, etc. they are bulky. what do we do with those? 😳they make the nail look so lumpy... Also, I LOVE that sparkle top coat. has anyone found a substitute?

Those are VBP Hard gels, they can’t be soaked off. Their polishes and SUPER pigmented but you have to be careful because sometimes you’ll get color “pockets” that don’t fully cure if you put them on too thick. Overall a great brand, their white polish is my favorite for white French tips because it’s a one coat white in my opinion.

What’s your favorite nail gel brands for licensed cosmetologist that wants to build their kit?

I use VBP regular gel polishes. I like them a lot. Always beautiful colors! I haven’t had the opportunity to try the rubber base gels or the builders. Can’t wait to hear your review of them! I’m excited for their flakes and new chromes! I’ve tried Kirsty Meakin’s dual forms. They’re fun to play with but I prefer a more individual approach to sculpting nails. Right now I only use the dual forms on myself when I feel like it’s been a minute since I worked with them and I need to stay up on the technique. You know what they would be really good for? If you have a client who really likes her nails to look completely perfect from one to the next (identical every time.)

There are a few products that I’m obsessed with because they are high quality and make my life easier…one of them is the Jin B crazy top thick gel, and one is my MPA art palette. That thing is amazing. Although i tend to like the dgel liners consistency and opacity better, i still just always reach for my MPA due to the convenience of it- so many colors right there in that palette ready to use and you don’t have to deal with a million different gel pots. Since i have quite a few sets of art gels (some of them pretty expensive) i have been making my own little palettes and decanting small amounts from their pots- so i have a nails by dev palette and a DGel palette, etc. but the MPA is a winner because of the color range you get for such an affordable price. My one and only negative (and I don’t know how this would be fixable) is that I’m always scared the palette will tip on its side and be ruined. So when I’m taking it with me somewhere I have to be very paranoid and diligent with keeping it flat and upright (for this reason I only put a very small amount of gel in each well at any given time so that if it does get tipped I haven’t lost a large amount of the color.) I have the other smaller MPA sets but I haven’t used them yet, so thanks for the info vid!

I have acrylic nails, but I bring my own regular polish to the salon because there is a specific brand that I love. They also offer regular polish there in addition to gel polish. The top coat she initially tried putting over my regular polish was that Essie "gel" top coat. It made my polish look terrible and basically changed the color of it. When I complained, she started using something she said was "shellac" specifically for acrylic nails. This made no sense to me, because she's not putting it directly on the acrylic nail, she's putting it over my nail polish. After watching your video, I have realized that she's using that CND shellac over my regular nail polish. I'm going to get my fill-in tomorrow and I bringing my OPI top coat with me. This is ridiculous!!!
