I liked the idea of writing it down first. Often times I draw it and the idea gets discouraged before it can be realized on paper
@ProkoTV2 жыл бұрын
It's a helpful thing to do. Writing it down helps us remember that core of the idea, before our hands and nitpicking brains get in the mix and can mess up the idea. We can come back to that written down idea later and maybe get the result we pictured.

@@ProkoTV Easily the most powerful tool - drawing inspiration from text. I yeeted out a "Weregoyle" (surprisingly, rarely if ever been done?!) based on descriptions of what gargoyles were supposed to be -- apparently, they were often intended to be humorous. I just want to quickly remind myself and everyone else about what I think is the most important step into becoming creative AND productive. Stop entertaining yourself with online activities, KZbin or movies etc. Use less time, or ideally not any time (few minutes each day is acceptable) online. Just invest more time in your art and creative process/troubleshooting figuring out stuff - just do it and keep doing less "garbage" as most of us tends to do. It will pay off eventually. And last but not least, use reference photos for everything - it will really make a huge difference in you evolving and learning faster.

I found out I had aphantasia a few years into my art journey, and I’ll tell you right now that it doesn’t stop me from working in 3D on 2D even finding out that fact. The way I see it, the canvas is a reflection of my mind. Blank. That is, until a put down a line. Suddenly, that line is in my “mind” (really, it’s what I see with my own eyes). What I’m saying is, you don’t need to visualize in your mind. The way I learn is pattern recognition, so I understand art concepts through rigorous repetition and breakdowns of objects and artworks. Experiment it on the canvas where you can fully see it. I don’t know much about dyslexia or ADHD, but I find that people who find out they can’t visualize (especially in r/aphantasia) tend to limit what they think they can and can’t do. Don’t let that stop you from finding other means of learning art

Hi proko, thanks for the video! Sometimes i feel like I am not enough in art and i need to wait till November when i will learn art seriously at the academy and j feel like I really need to wait to create. But this, really makes me so depressed sometimes i don't want to go through all the stressfull parts of making a drawing because it annoys me What should I do 😭 Ps: as for the critique the Academy did on my projects they said that i am really good! And at the same time that they really see my artistic talent and will. But ofc they pointed out some really small mistakes that they told me it's because i Ve never done life drawing. I am from an artist highl school but i did graphic, i Ve always liked drawing humans though so i practices anatomy by myself a lot
@liandroroger2 жыл бұрын
Maybe consider what specific parts of a drawing you enjoy the most. For me, for example, I love the ideation and the sketching process, but I don't enjoy rendering or coloring as much. Overall, it's good to learn and practice a bit of everything if you're just starting out, but eventually, at some point in your career, you can focus and get more specialized. Depending on the type of art you wanna do, you don't necessarily need to be a "do-it-all".
@Anastasiabruno2 жыл бұрын
@@liandroroger i think that i enjoy the ideation process and the coloring process, but sometimes i feel like I need to be a professional to draw well certain things so i don't spend much time on it, and this just demotivates me. @liandroroger2 жыл бұрын
@@Anastasiabruno I see! Having you tried getting some actual feedback on your current portfolio or most recent artworks? Sounds like the kind of thing that might help you figure out how you could improve or expand. You could use the Proko community for that ( proko.com/community ): create a post there, attach some of your drawings, give some context on what you wanna do, what you struggle with etc. and simply ask people to help you. Many of the users will be pleased to reply, plus there are some moderators and instructors (I’m one of them) which are constantly giving out critiques. When we're excited to draw something good, we tend to create expectations, sometimes too high, and this can lead to frustration. When there's less attachment to the outcome, it's easier to get surprised and actually end up liking what we did. Weird, isn't it?
