did this with intc without knowing it as it was 50. ish about a year ago and dropped from 50ish to 25 ish and then slowly started coming back up. was selling both the puts and the calls both where there was little likelihood of getting another assignment , always too rolling if need be as to. keep the position from becoming too much a part of my overall portfolio. Got it back to being profitable and still selling puts on it

Very imp points highlighted 1. Don’t put your entire capital in one stock for selling puts as then you will have no leverage in case it gets assigned and then you can only hope it reaches your strike price to sell covered calls. 2. Better idea to sell puts on broader index like SPY, QQQ etc. even if it is assigned you can happily hold it and wait.
@abuyusuf8374Ай бұрын
@saurabhjain7672 - good point but it seems SPY, QQQ, IWM, these are very expensive for selling their puts. If you are assigned, it will be tradegy if you do not have enough funds,

If i am trading index ETF like IWM, do you still recommend grid strategy?

Hi Davis, Thanks again for such a great video. Would it be possible to do similar but with PMCC, selling OTM calls so min chance of assignment? If so, would you consider making a video on this please? Thank you 🙏

Again a good video Davis that is well explained. A nice insight how to use the wheel strategy in a way I had not heard of. But to keep track of your trades, an options trading journal is indispensable. Could you please recommend a commercial one or do you use your own made journal? And could you do a video on how to use a journal when using this or different strategies? Thank you!

Thanks ☺️ I just use a simple spreadsheet. But thanks for the suggestion, will consider creating a video on it.

This depends on the price eventually returning to the starting position doesn't it? otherwise you have an unrealised loss on the Puts that were assigned? Although you do get other premium income along the way

Is the first level weekly option as well or just the second level and so on?
@sunghokim40118 ай бұрын
Thanks for another great education video. How far out expiry is recommended? 1 week out? In the case of AT&T, one week expiry even just 1$ OTM put premium is worth only $0.01 - $0.02.
@shersinghusa8 ай бұрын
Low volatility maybe. Just buy options in this case

How do you execute a trading plan with this strategy? If your plan is to deploy $xx capital, and the chosen stock moves higher in price your capital is sitting on the sidelines.
@marinawong9662Ай бұрын
What is your strategy for choosing the strike price in this case? It seems that you want to be assigned so if there’s a support level, do you use a strike price that’s below the support level (less likely to be assigned) or above the support level (more likely to be assigned)?

Thank you Davis. Great video. One question: What about selling a put ratio spread instead of a csp? On the opposite I would say it should be better a cov call in any case. What do you think? Thank you.

I think there’s always pros and cons to everything. If you use an income grid will strategy and the market is going up, then you have more money sitting on the sideline, not producing.

While I think this is a good strategy it requires a lot of capital as you have to have enough cash to buy each PUT level if you are assigned.

@chimchu32324 ай бұрын
It's because of low liquidity for options, not a lot of buyers and sellers and the prices can swing wildly because of that. If you are trying to sell an option for a set price and the order doesn't fill, it's because there's nobody willing to buy it at that price, so you have to lower your price until you find a buyer. It's pretty common in options trading to have a hard time closing positions because the bid/ask spread can get so wide.

If your selling weekly calls or puts you get premium
@optionswithdavis8 ай бұрын
By selling weekly puts & calls as mentioned in the video
@handdle-h2o8 ай бұрын
find the cheapest stock that has weekly options, SELL a put, look at your account and it'll show the premium you received from said sale. If assigned sell a call for the next expiration do it for the same price that you were assigned, look at your account and you'll see the premium for the call you might even wind up with premium more than weekly
@durairaj14198 ай бұрын
Ok, but what if stock turned up from level 1? We may end up buying less qty and possible to miss the momentum.
