It won't affect you in PI. It might affect you in summers. Final placements will be mostly dependent on your performance in the MBA institute. It is better to be doing a teaching job than having a gap year. So focus mostly on doing well in CAT.

Hi, your academics are decent and a 4-year gap due to UPSC preparation, getting into top IIMs or FMS is challenging but not impossible. They consider overall profiles, including CAT scores, academics, work experience, and interview performance. Don't focus on percentile. It will fluctuate a lot. Focus on score. Set targets such as 110 or 100 overall score, that will be realistic and reachable.

Focus on giving your best. 100% is not needed to get shortlists from any college. Do your best, work hard every day and take mocks regularly. It is that simple to do well in CAT !
