I used these for 3 years. You have to wear them every night if you have really bad vision. They do hurt the eyes if your eyes are dry and tired. I stopped because I didn’t want the pain in my eyes. I went back to monthly soft lenses and looking to improve my eyes with active focus. Hopefully I can be free from lenses completely in 2-3 years

So this probably explains WHY my vision improved to the point that I did not need glasses by the time I was 17 (started wearing hard lenses part-time when I was 13) and had 20/20 vision until my late 20's. The eye doctors that I spoke to about this almost unilaterally told me they could not explain it. I had one who did say that it was possible that my eye shape changed during those years... maybe the contacts were the reason why. I will certainly have to look into this again.
@tubedude547 жыл бұрын
This really does work. I had regular hard contacts yrs ago in HS and went back to glasses because of my work conditions later in life. very dusty dirty conditions that made wearing them impossible. 10 yrs later I found the old contacts and wondered if they would still 'work' since I went thru several prescription changes since in eyeglasses. After a few days of wearing the contacts I could not use the glasses as they were too strong!! My eyes had changed back to what they were when I had the contacts! Needless to say you must continually wear the contacts to maintain the corneal shape... not a big deal if you sleep with them I guess. I should look into this now since I'm now retired and no longer in the dusty environments. Regular lenses back then were about 70$ for one set. For this you need a series of lenses to get you back to perfect vision so the cost could be rather high. But once corrected you just need a maintenance set to keep you there.

I'm surprised not a lot of people know about this, I wore them almost every night from 2007 -2014. And no it doesn't guarantee 20/20 vision, at least not for people with really bad eyesight to begin with, but it does improve it. I used to need glasses for everything, but now I only wear them for driving and looking at blackboard. Also when you wear the corrective lenses at night, you can go completely free of glasses for a day at least, so it might be worth looking into for kids that play a lot of sports. If you have dry eyes, then this treatment is probably not for you. I believe there is a limit on how bad your eyesight can be to receive the treatment, and I was quite close to that limit.

Okay, so I have these contacts. Here are some things about them: They slow down your vision from getting bad, which is a good thing. They do not STOP it, but they slow it down. They are hard. Not soft. It gets rather troubling to do it every night. I'm sure many out there want to go to sleep without brushing their teeth because they want to go straight to bed, it's the same with this. It's cool, really, but they are EXPENSIVE. It is NOT a cure. You can see during the day, but it won't magically improve your vision. It takes a while to get used to them, you do feel them in your eyes at first, but it gets better later.

There should be a flexible lens replacement available in 2019-2020. This is similar to the current hard lens replacement for cataracts. The problem is the FDA approval process - which is slowing this flexible lens replacement technology for many years. With the instability of your corneas you will need a flexible lens.

Rehema Nkisi dude this is fake as fuck.... Lml. He said as long as 10 days and fast as 3. If the reason your eyesight is poor was because of your cornea what is stopping everyone from getting their cornea transplanted and seeing 20/20. It’s because blindness has a lot more to do with your brain than your actual eyes, most of the time blind people have perfectly working eyes, they just literally cannot perceive what it is their eyes are showing them, others have blocks nerves. Very rarely is a blind man blind because his eyes are bad (unless you physically damaged your eye, or your eyesight gradually decreased through time, your blind because of your brain, this is especially the case with people born blind).

Depends on you actually. You can stop anytime you want. I wore them for around 7 years. While it certainly improved my eyesight after I stopped, it was definitely not perfect. I still need need glasses for looking at the blackboard and driving. (But I do have bad eyesight to begin with) Most people stopped when they become an adult when their eyes are matured and stable. Another reason of why people stop would be because their eyes are getting too dry to wear the contacts. At night. Trust me if you have dry eyes, you don't want to wear them.
