Great video, especially the reminders (more than once) about networking and making friends in and out of the Twitch community. We all forget that this should be fun and it's about the "community" being Twitch! 😀

Honest video - thanks! Been streaming more seriously for the past year. I'm unfortunatly variety streaming and that is what I see as well, as soon as I switch games, viewers drop. I'll probably end up sticking to one game soon... Just got to pick...
@zombiemoonmedia4 жыл бұрын
This video is very helpful. Sticking with the same game is very good as far as tips go, with some rebranding and it actually works. It worked for me. Letting your personality shine is another one too... BUT what helps the most AND I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH... turn. off. your. viewer. count!!!! Mask it, hide it... do something. It makes you distracted and makes you feel low if you don't have a high viewer count. It will also show on your face through your webcam feed. Make sure the game you're playing is something you are decent at! Just make it fun!

There's a huge difference between being a streamer -- and being an ENTERTAINER. People who are entertained will be more likely to stick around and tell others about your stream. But if your goal is merely to stream and not much else, you will not grow as a content creator. Find that niche that drives you. Find that thing about you that you like and stick to it. Have a schtick. A gimmick. Something that makes you unique and makes people want to come back to you. I'm not a Twitch partner, just an affiliate, but I think it's important to focus on what makes you happy, what keeps you in a good mood. Have faith in yourself, and have patience. Remember: Streaming is more than just pure numbers. Establishing a community is the foundation of your streaming career. Don't forget -- we're all human.

I'd say just get a mic in ur budget and go up better mics in the future. If you get Christmas/Birthday money, buy the mic you want. I'd suggest a Blue Yeti Snowball for a starter mic or just look into something with ur budget.

Good information. Done all this and in two years still growing and actually backsliding a bit. When a game views go down would you still recommend to keep streaming the same game if people that typically come to your stream are also tired of playing said game? I got close last year with 55 avg and now the game is low on content and ppl are losing interest in the game and I struggling to get 30 avg now. That will probably keep happening till the next game patch. Thanks for the video!

I get around 3 viewers max each stream, I mainly do it because I want to. Not because i feel I have to, for me it’s not about views or money, it’s purely just that my viewers, friends and myself are all having fun while it’s going on. 😁 Depression doesn’t help with sometimes towards the end of streams 😕

Two last things are pretty ok. Definitely consistency is important. But the first thing, that's a ticket to game locking. And game locking isn't THAT good. A lot of people had amazing communities built on the channel with one game, only to die down with that game, never to transition to a different game.
@MrHuddo3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a bit of a catch twenty-two. You build up your community because of that one game, but this caps you to only that community and therefore limits your reach. On the other hand, transitioning between different games to keep things fresh must be done with lots of prior research i.e. is it interactive? can people engage effectively? is it too different from my current game (i.e. say you stream COD and then you start streaming chess)... etc. I guess reflection and honest self-evaluation is crucial and you definitely raise a great point.
