Hi, I’m really struggling with the rim of the cup mine just aren’t sealing. Are you not breaking the seal while scraping the excess off the lip? Does it all have to do with angle? Is there any epoxy on the lip left at all after you scrape it?
@MissKissKreations2 жыл бұрын
Try sanding the rim as well. Sand towards the tumbler a tiny bit. Then epoxy over again to get a good seal. Hope this helps
@charidyla653 жыл бұрын
Can you tape the very top before adding design, then remove tape during final epoxy stage & seal in design? Essentially leaving a very small ring on top without design but still locking it in with epoxy.

Yes. Make sure you remove the tape before the epoxy is dried or it will be stuck to the epoxy

Do you have a tip for wine glasses or wine tumblers? Because the shape of the cup the foam sits on the rim while it spins so the epoxy is super jagged and has an uneven seal to clean up. I’ve been struggling with that. Thanks for this video it helped a lot!
@spiritwings45923 жыл бұрын
I sat my cup on the foam and took a marker and marked around it. Took cup off then drew another line 3/4 of an inch in then cut the foam off. When my wine cups are on the foam it comes within 3/4 of an inch from the top.

🤯 what?!?!! This whole time I've been avoiding epoxy anywhere near the lip 😅
@debrajol35854 жыл бұрын
It’s actually better to push some inside all the way around and make a solid ring in there .. than it is to have just tiny bits here & there. By making one slit (from lower inside to the upper inside) and then the whole thing will usually pop out in one piece 😁. If not in one piece a little push n pull and it’s popping off. For me anyways.. trying to get those tiny bits is a pain ✌️

I’ve also been told that by putting a thin layer of Vaseline/petroleum jelly inside the rim ..or the rim and a few inches down.. that nothing sticks including the spray paints. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m buying the petroleum jelly now that I’m thinking about it again. 👌 Happy Arting!! 🌹💯🤩

@@debrajol3585 I bought tumbler shields, which sit on the inside of the cup....they work AWESOME for spray paint and their supposed to also work when doing your epoxy, but I always forget to disconnect after a few minutes of spinning. Either way they are a great product and the best be part is that they are silicone, so nothing sticks!

Hello your cups are amazing! Thank you for this. I have asked this question on several other pages with no reply. I do have a question also. Can you tape the inside of it? do you think taking your design all the way to the edge is better for creating a long lasting seal. I've only ever left a gap at the top of my cups, but I can literally take a blunt object and peel my design completely off especially on glitter cups. This is even after a week of sitting.
@MissKissKreations5 жыл бұрын
Abigail Felder Good Question. I’ve had some of my tumblers for over a year and never has my designed peeled. To me, I’ve perfected my tumbler not peeling off my tumbler. Maybe you are cutting the epoxy too low or not at the right angle. Maybe the epoxy is too thin? Leaving a gap is perfectly fine, it’s whichever way you prefer and most comfortable with
