@@Gratitude.Driven sorry for the typo “edited” lol I am literally on a stage where I am coming from business back ground and learnt a lot for over the late year done a lot of projects and started some virtual internship programs. It’s fun but I feel I need more. I can work for free or as volunteer for non-profit to build up experience. Also enrolling now for data science master degree at Harvard extension school to make a solid case to future recruiters. How can we chat? It would be great to have a mentor like you following along what I am doing guide me..!!

@@mostafagalal1584 Sounds like you're on the right track! I have limited time to work with mentees 1:1 right now, but if you're interested you can book a call here: topmate.io/marina_wyss I also plan to be putting out a guide to breaking into Data Science in the next month or so! Thanks for your support

Thank you for this fantastic and insightful video! It really clarified a lot about the data science career path. I have a question -At what level of Kaggle problems should one aim to perform well to stand out as a candidate for a junior data science role?

Sounds like how I leveled up from data entry to software engineering without a degree. I started writing small scripts to speed up my data entry job, got in trouble because the sysadmin thought I was hacking into his system, then got the keys to the system when he saw the roundabout way I was pushing data in using the windows macro recorder.

Hello Marina Maam, thank you for your youtube videos. Moreover, I want to ask whether buying M4max apple with 128 gb laptop for machine learning, AI and Data science or buy M4 max with 36 gb and use cloud for higher data computation. It would be our pleasure to have on best laptop idea for these categories.
@Gratitude.Driven2 күн бұрын
In practice in industry we don't really develop locally and only use cloud services, so I would recommend not investing in a powerful laptop and rather getting a decent laptop and using AWS/GCP
@NagendraLama-s4q2 күн бұрын
@@Gratitude.Driven Thank you maam for your prompt response.so employer or company pays for the cost of using AWS/GCP or we have to bear it. if we bear the cost then spending on AWS would be expensive compare to laptop ugrade ? Please it would be good of you to enlight this area.
@Gratitude.Driven2 күн бұрын
@@NagendraLama-s4q Once you're working the company covers the cost. But before that, as a beginner you can usually get pretty far using the free tier options!

Hi Marina, thanks for the excellent advice. I am wondering if you have examples of good Github portfolios to share? Also would it be helpful to create a personal website with all your projects?
@Gratitude.Driven17 күн бұрын
Here are some example Github portfolios: github.com/katiehuangx github.com/TeneikaAskew github.com/Erlemar You can make a personal portfolio website if you want, but I think a really nicely-formatted Github like these ones does the trick just as well.

Hello Mam, Problem 1: I'm still in learning phase and i got stuck in Stats so can u recommend resource for that ? Problem 2: What type of project should make in this stage ? Can we have connection on linkedin ? Thanks in Advance for solving problem !!!!🙂
@Gratitude.Driven17 күн бұрын
Hello! I would recommend StatQuest: kzbin.info/door/tYLUTtgS3k1Fg4y5tAhLbw That channel was by far the most helpful thing for me! The book Practical Statistics for Data Scientists is also well-regarded, but I haven't read it myself. I'm about to put out a video on projects at every stage (within the next month), so keep an eye out for that!

She could have just said know everything and do everything. Competition, Portfolio, freelance, volunteer, work free. I am honestly wondering who didn’t already know that. Absolutely zero insight. I hope she is better at data science than she is making content. 11 minutes just to say do everything including work for free! Wow
