PSA for anyone wanting to joining the Air Force, if you're even slightly creative there's a job called Aircraft Metal's Technology, and trust me when I say it's a blast! You're a machinist (creating practically anything you want out of metal) and a welder. Most days it's a super laid back job, tech school is pretty short, and the skills you'll learn can easily land you a six figure job after your enlistment. Also the tech school instructors when I was there, a little over a year ago, were super chill and friendly people while still being able to teach you a lot and help you progress. All in all, fantastic job, I wouldn't trade it for any other job in the AF

Hey man! First off your content is awesome! I subscribed after watching your first episode. Congrats on completing tech and thank you for choosing to serve. I have a couple of questions. But first, I’m a 30 year old middle school earth and space science teacher and I love what I do as a civilian. So I am going to join the reserves because I want to serve my country in the military as well as teaching tomorrow’s leaders. I talked to a recruiter and everything is going well. I wanted to ask if you knew anything about the jobs like Pararescue, loadmaster, and space operation. Also, I wanted to ask about what enlisted rank I come in to basic as with a college degree and some masters credits as well as if you know anything about going from enlisted to officer. (Future goals) Also as a man of color, how did you deal with shaving and the bad razor bumps that come with it? I’m not opposed to shaving, just if you have any pointers.

Dillard Brooks so with your college credits I would honestly look into straight commissioning instead of enlisting tbh. But if you go in as enlisted you will be an E3. I don’t know much about those jobs but this website should really assist you in that. As far as razor bumps go, you will be able to get a shaving waiver. if your bumps are severe enough so you don’t have to worry about it.

I gave my recruiter a list of 9 cyber/intel jobs and after only a month of waiting he came back with a general aptitude contract.. Then tried to tell me it's af policy to drop recruits from dep if they refuse the first contract offered to them when in fact it's up to the flight chief if I'm not mistaken. After pleading my case, I'm waiting for them to tell me if they'll keep me in or if I'm gonna be forced to accept my limited job choices and the risk of getting something.. less desirable.

Hey man! I had a question, my recruiter is telling me I need to put 5 jobs down from high demand sheet, most of which are maintenance and I'm not interested in. I scored well on my practice asvab at a 95, so if I do similar on the real asvab I'll have a lot of other options! So my question is, do I really have to put a certain amount of jobs down from high demand areas? Or should I only put down what I want and qualify for?

you have to have a bachelors degree to become and officer and be a pilot. or go to USAFA. which is college.

Gotta be an officer to be a pilot. They are doing a non commissioned program where they take x amount of enlisted members and train them to be pilots but chances are very low in getting that
