No, I do not think that is a good idea. The interest charged on those loans are extremely high so I never recommend getting one, but I do understand some people get them as they may have no other solutions for immediate income after being injured in an accident.

One question . My car was smashed or hit by someone or something. At the time it is insured with Progressive. I have under insured and under motorist collision and comprehensive . But adjuster sentbme straight to investigate. After saying I can bring my car to any shop . They came out to do a second estimate on my car and total it . But has not pay anything . I report in June 5 ,2022 and today is July 23.

I never recommend to anyone to take out a loan because the interest rates charged on thedr loans are very high. If you have an attorney, I would recommend you talk to them more about it. Can you request more than the injury limit on the insurance policy? Can you file law suit and be awarded more than the limit?

Yes, you can request more than the policy limits, but in my opinion it's generally not a good idea to do so until you have demanded an offer for the limits first and the insurance company acts in bad faith by not offering you the limits in a timely manner (provided your case is valued more than the limits). You can file a lawsuit and of course be awarded more than the limits at a trial. The only way to collect more than the limits is to get more money from the insured or via a bad faith insurance claim against the insurer if they did not pay out the limits when they should have in order to protect its insured.

@@calltate thank you for the response. This is inline with what I was thinking. There was 4 of us in the car. The kids hit their heads hard on the headrest and the window. Wife and I both have imaging confirmed disc herniations in our affected areas along with shoulder impingements. I have si joint injury and started getting twitching in my forearm and fingers. 10 sessions of physical therapy and injections being recommended for both of us at this point. Also pending ncv and lower lumbar mri since I have had pain shooting down my right leg. Can’t sit for long without intensifying pain and we are about 2 months since accident. I believe we have a solid case for a hood settlement. Thanks again for your input.
