Fun fact: Travis Scott recorded vocals for "No Bystanders" (and maybe the rest of the album as well) using the blanket. So can you make damn well sounding vocals without pro acoustic treatment? Yes, you can!

Check this out: I also bought myself a $100 Gazebo / Pergola (200cm x 200cm) and placed it in my basement on a noise absorbing rug. I left the outside "walls" off and placed moving blankets on all five sides. Got myself a 10M led strip for the inside and some bass traps in the corners and foam on the inside off the blankets. Super easy set-up for recording with my D18 and singing at the same time straight into my iPhone using the Roland Go Pro mix. Call me cheap but I just love my little "tent" inside my basement. Nice and cozy. Love your channel man!!

My problem is mostly outside noise (Traffic). I've tried hanging blankets and heavy curtains over my windows,and stuffing old pillows inside the windows between the screens and glass. It helps a LOT but still not enough for me. For some reason,peace and quit helps calm me so i don't hit the mic with stress,run out of breath,mess up words etc.

The blanket on paper seems like a good idea , but in reality won’t really make any difference and in many cases could make it worse , your essentially creating a smaller area for the sound to reflect in , blankets are not all that great at absorbing sound and the tighter you pull it the more it’s gunna act as a wall , having a more open space with hard walls and furniture etc filling the room will do more justice

@ Minute 5:40, Mr.DifferentTV i think you nailed it man, great job thanks for sharing. Two combinations the Reflector and the Kaotica i think will rival a classic vocal booth unless the booth is super treated with fiber glass between walls and then panels inside to reduce the low frequencies. In post I think it would sound even better, would be nice if you could share the vocal chain and the noise floor, cheers!

I haven't tested the Kaotica Eyeball myself, so I don't know how it competes against a properly treated studio/booth, but assuming it works as advertised, I think the $200 price tag is justified. A good vocal booth can cost +$1,000 as well as ideal acoustic treatment depending on your room and the brand you use.

listen to your phase cencellations along with the unwanted stereo information. just listen carefully above 5k Hz you may find your higher frequencies are hitting each other and creating cencellation of phase. hope it helps. ;-{

try the aurray isolation chamber. I have one thst i just bought and it works wonders for vocals. My studio is also treated which helps also. The chamber is $100 but its worth it. I have the alctron and it does good to but your definitely going to need treatment with it as opposed to the Aurray isolation chamber that sounds great with or without treatment
