After looking at both of my application processes for the DCP (getting rejected and accepted) I've noticed some KEY differences between the two so hopefully this helps you if you are currently or hope to apply! :)

I love this video! I applied for the first time for the DCP last semester in January (for Fall/Fall Advantage 2016). I was rejected on the very last day to hear back and I was devastated! I decided that my downfall was being overly prepared. I spent forever writing out a script of pages and pages of answers to possible questions in the phone interview and it probably was obviously unnatural. This time I'm definitely not making that mistake and and will give answers that come to my head during the interview! I'll be applying next month for Spring 2017, so wish me luck! (And I'm looking forward to seeing more of your DCP videos!)

Aww that sounds VERY similar to my experience! I'm sorry that happened to you :( but I strongly encourage you to apply again!! Not preparing as much definitely helped me this time around :) wishing you the best of luck!!

I agree with this. I Studied so so much and when I got the call, me recruiter asked me "Are you okay?" and I took a deep breathe and said yes. Then I continued to just have a normal conversation and forgot all my research and I got accepted. 🖤

It also helps to be bilingual. (Dad is African American, mom is Japanese). Not only do you get a cooler name tag, but it's Disney they want bilingual people. It also helps to not apply for a role you don't picture yourself doing for a year because you can't change it once you get accepted. I was open for all the roles, and I got full service food beverage in this really uptight boring restaurant and all of my coworkers were middle aged. I was a busboy, then months later was promoted to host/greeter and I was given a test waiter shift which due to my performance, I was not allowed to wait tables. Anyways, I unfortunately was termed from Disney due to a misunderstanding when a guest got sick in the restaurant. So even though I appreciate your advice in that you make the best of whatever role you get, it's best to be upfront and mention you don't want to work in certain jobs.

I applied for the fall semester yesterday. I don't think I'm over prepared or under prepared. I definitely was versatile in my application, I checked over half of the jobs.

Hey girl! I'm going to be participating in the DCP during the Spring semester and want to vlog the experience, and I LOVE your videos, so I was just curious about a few things if you don't mind me asking!: What kind of camera do you use? How did you create your intro, the title pic on each video, & channel header? & do you use any type of external lighting or microphone when you film? Thanks!!! :)

What advice do you have for not worrying about the application? I applied on Feb. 28th and is currently in submission. I've been thinking about this everyday bc I hear about people having a WBI or Phone Interview within a week of applying

I'm applying for spring 2017, but unfortunately this is the one and only chance I can get accepted. I already graduated from college in May and didn't know about applying during my spring semester to do the DCP in the fall so if after my phone interview I don't get accepted then that's it for me :(

DisCruLegend006 I ended up getting accepted during the first huge wave of acceptances so I had to wait less than a week after my interview! I got the role of attractions which I'm excited/nervous about.
@DisCruLegend0068 жыл бұрын
AnneNicole Congrats!! Any tips for me? I feel pretty confident about it right now, considering I've watched tons of videos on it XD
@andsings138 жыл бұрын
DisCruLegend006 just find online the questions that the interviewers are likely to ask and write out in bullet points your responses. Then practice a little each day before your interview and make sure you sound natural, not rehearsed. Don't over prepare. Remember to smile when you respond to the interviewers questions the day of and try not to sound nervous because they can tell. Other then that you will be fine!!

Hi Kaitlyn! I was hopping you could tell me which universities can apply for the DCP?
@kaitlynmancha8958 жыл бұрын
It's not so much as you have to go to "this school" to be accepted but more of if the school you go to recognizes the program. As long as you're at a college or university taking classes you can apply for the program :)
@colinsoileau50338 жыл бұрын
but.... you may not get college credit depending on the school

I had applied on the first day applications dropped and had my phone interview about a week and a half later! It usually falls between 2-3 weeks after your WBI :)
