Real answer: Grind fundamentals

When I have time, I’m going to draw a person from reference again. I’ve never been that great at drawing people, but I’ve been trying to laity. I’m not happy with any of my attempts so far, but I do acknowledge that I’m slightly improving each time. If this comment gets 5 likes, when I draw again, I’ll come back to this comment and update it with my progress. I’ll see you guys again soon :) Edit: Well, five likes was achieved. Instead of reference drawing, I decided to try something new. I winged it. No reference, no plan, I literally just winged it. And surprisingly, it actually worked. I know that some things may look off, but for now, I’m happy with the result. I’ll post the finished piece to my account and do another update if this comment gets 10 likes.

You need new stimuli to make the old stimuli new again when you go back to it.

whenever i draw new things i beat myself over how it looks, it always looks off and i go back to my comfort zone 🫠
@SoloAnima13 ай бұрын
When it does look off that’s good, it’s actually a skill to easily notice that. When you keep drawing things you’re used to you can end up forgetting how they actually look and that causes problems. So I’d recommend leaving your comfort zone (idk if the video explains this or not)

Thats okay aslong as you keep trying cause i do thesame, 10 minutes i get pissed at messing up then the 20 minutes is drawing whatever i like, balance it out

@@mawcha It's natural to feel frustrated when your drawings don't meet your expectations, but pushing through that discomfort can lead to growth. Try to draw the basics first to gradually build your confidence and skill. You can do it, just be patient.

Try setting a timer for each drawing so you focus on one at a time, and let yourself finish a piece before starting a new one

@@artmarkk_I grew too fast, one day I had art with absolutely trash anatomy, the back was square, the chest didnt connect with the core, then about 2 days after that I learnt how to draw simplified ribs and used it in my art

@@Genericytber that's good! Improvement doesn't happen overnight. You need to keep practicing to be good. No need to rush, take your time
