How to Get ALL Pokemon Gen 4 & Gen 5 Mystery Gifts (emulator and console)

How to Get Mystery Gifts for Gen 4 & Gen 5 Pokemon Games on Nintendo DS and Emulator.
Note: I am using SoulSilver from Gen 4 in this example (both in the video and in the description) via melonDS (which uses the DS interface).
1. Below "Continue", scroll down and choose NINTENDO WI-FI CONNECTION SETTINGS
2. Select Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings (Blue Button)
3. Choose NONE for whatever connection is available (you will see Connection 1, Connection 2, and Connection 3). If they all say READY, click “Erase Settings” to free a Connection so that we can set it up manually.
4. After choosing a Connection (remember which number you chose), select “Search for an Access Point” and let it load.
5. melonAP should be highlighted
6. Click A (OK)
7. Click A (OK) again when it says “Connection settings have been saved. Tap OK to start a connection test”.
8. It should say “Testing connection…” for a brief moment and then “Connection successful”.
9. Choose Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings (Blue Button)
10. Select the Connection you just setup (Either Connect 1, 2, or 3) by clicking READY
11. Scroll down to where it says “Auto-obtain DNS” and toggle this to NO.
12. Scroll down to Primary DNS and click “Edit”
13. Type in 178.062.043.212
14. Click OK
15. Click A (OK) when it asks you “Are these settings correct?”
16. Scroll down to Secondary DNS and click “Edit”.
17. Type in 1 then click the right arrow, then 1 again, then the right arrow, then 1 again, then the right arrow, then 1 again so that the boxes look like this: _ _ 1. _ _ 1. _ _ 1. _ _ 1
18. Click OK
19. Click A (OK) when it asks you “Are these settings correct?”
20. Click Test Connection
21. It should say “Testing connection…” for a brief moment and then “Connection successful”.
22. Click Save Settings
23. It will then say “Changes to settings have been saved.”
24. Click B (BACK) until you return to the main game menu.
25. When you get to the screen that says Continue or New Game, scroll down to Mystery Gift.
26. Select “RECEIVE GIFT”
27. Select “GET VIA NINTENDO WFC”
28. Select “YES”
29. It will say “Searching for a Gift. Please wait…” (this may take a moment)
30. Then BOOM! “Receiving your gift.”
31. Please pick up your gift from the deliveryman in any Poke Mart.
32. Rinse and repeat to get all available Gen 4 and Gen 5 gifts
NOTE: This also works on DS devices for your in-home WiFi with the above Primary and Secondary DNS or (for DS ONLY) you can try Primary DNS: 164.132.044.106 & Secondary DNS: 000.000.000.000.
➤ HOW TO INSTALL AND SETUP MELONDS
1. Download the melonDS Emulator (link below)
2. Download the BIOS and Firmware for DS (link below)
3. Run melonDS
4. Click Config
5. Click Emu Settings
6. Select the DS-mode tab
7. Check the box for “Use external BIOS/firmware files”
8. DS ARM9 BIOS: Click Browse… and choose the bios9.bin found in the NDS BIOS & Firmware folder.
9. DS ARM7 BIOS: Click Browse… and choose the bios7.bin found in the NDS BIOS & Firmware folder.
10. DS firmware: Click Browse… and choose the firmware.bin found in the NDS BIOS & Firmware folder.
11. Click OK
12. Select Config in the menubar
13. Choose Video Settings
14. Under 3D Renderer choose OpneGL
15. Under “OpenGL Renderer” to the right, select your Internal resolution (I personally chose 10x native (2560x1920) but you can choose whatever you like).
16. Click OK
➤ OPTIONAL: Setup a controller
• Connect your controller to your computer via wireless or wired connection.
• Click Config in the menubar
• Select Input and hotkeys
• Tap the corresponding buttons to map to your controller as you prefer.
• Click OK
➤ To Play Your ROMs
Finally click File in the menubar and choose Open ROM and choose your game (the ROM is the game).
NOTE: Your ROMs (games) and save files (NOT save states) will be found in the same folder.

• (Click on your System Version)
• Download BIOS & Firmware: emulation.game...
• (Click on DS BIOS files and firmware)

Yellow Forest is a route for the pokewalker. It's really awesome, because all the pokemon you can catch are pikachu, and there are special pikachu to catch on it that know surf, and fly. You can also get items like light ball and thunderstone, for all your pikachu needs. Not so awesome if you're playing on an emulator, but if you get the yellow forest on a legit gen 4 copy and have a pokewalker, it's pretty neat.

I did everything the same way as you did but when i try to connect to wfc i come across error code 20100 no matter what i do Its like i start my copy of black 2 and go to the gts to wait 2 minutes to find the code Is it because im using a 2ds xl or something else?

I heard somewhere that this trick don’t work on new 3DS. But i don’t have one so i can’t confirm, anyway, there are others DNS Addresses around the internet. Try searching it here on youtube. There is a guy that actually made a video for every address i know 😅

If anyone is doing this using an actual DS you probably won’t be able to connect to the internet due to modern security protocols. You need to either connect to a guest network that you set up in your router settings or turn your network password off completely. After that use the supplied DNS and it should work.

For Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver specifically; - instead of going in the 3ds wifi setting you go into the actual game menu and scroll to the wifi connection option in there - then you make a hotspot without a password and put the connection in that menu - change the DNS to to math the ones in the video as long as your 3ds wifi is on and the hotspot is on you can randomly get the events from does games Haven't tested if this is also needed for Black, White, White 2 and Black 2, because i will wait for Marc's LP to start to play along

Yeah PokeGen was a good time Even ended up having Homebrew on my old DS's so I could use it with my actual copies of the game Because Homebrew could import the save and then change the save with the edited save I think. Hmm maybe I could in theory get that evolve fix in a actual game if I still had it, from memory it's harder to get the memory card on a new 3DS compared to the old 3DS and well DS's Seeing as that's the only one I still own the rest got destroyed basically by past me😅

There was an iOS app that allowed you to create any Pokémon you wanted and send it through your local home WiFi. Then receive it on your game as a “local” gift. Had a lot of fun with that on my actual copies of my game too.

I've tried both DNS settings on different devices (DS, DS Lite, 3DS, New 3DS) and with different games and I always get the 20110 error despite following every single step. I am using my mobile as Hotspot with no password at 2.4 GHz if that matters. Idk what am I doing wrong or if I simply cannot do this exploit.

Ds and 3ds don't support new encryption standards for home wifi tbh. Use a hotspot on your phone with no password set to get it running as WEP type wifi. That's what I do on my 2ds.

This method works for me except i cannot get the japanese only gifts. Those being the other genie (tornadus for white/thunderus for black), the shiny golurk for white or hydreigon for black, and finally the rayquaza. Ive gotten every single one besides those three, including meloetta being my most recent. Please help :(

How perplexing... I do this with the emulator and works with aplomb! When I attempt to do the same with my actual copy of the games on my actual hardware, it doesn't work nor does it connect! Even, though I followed your steps perfectly even tried manually putting in SSID and I still get Error codes over an instant connect! I am guessing it's due to the fact that the my router's security isn't compatible with Gen 4 and Gen 5 games. I even tried mobile hotspots and that doesn't work even without password protection!

If you’re trying to connect to your home network, and it’s telling you the settings are invalid, then it’s likely as simple as not putting the right password in.

Your home wifi is probably using an incompatible encryption type your ds can't read. Use a hotspot on your phone with no password to run it as a WEP wifi type so your ds can connect. You'll be good after.

it does not seem to without a little extra work. That said, you can just transfer your save data into Delta as I state in the video.

@@Marcanine so without knowing who is having issues it would be hard to explain. But where u go to connections 1-3, the ip address menu is not the first one but the second one in the series. You do need to use ur android phone as a hotspo. The option to password protect it is in the menu itself. U can always turn it back on and dont need to fiddle with the router.
