I have a song coming out that has a co-writer. Do we need to adjust the Splits on Distrokid to match the splits as we register with our PRO? Or, can I leave the splits on Distrokid as 100% going to myself, being the artist releasing the song, and we adjust the royalties through our PRO?

Hello ari, i am a Canadian artist I am currently with distrokid. I know socan is the PRO for Canada, but do you know the correct steps for a Canadian artist to collect all of their royalties? I would be very grateful if you could lead me in the right direction, please. Thank you Regards, Travis Morin

I have signed to the MLC but support is horrible. I have sent identity verification 3 months ago to support team but they didn't answer until now🙄 And i've seen that my recordings aren't registered 😕.

Hey question, when I register a work with Ascap and I don't have a pubpublisher should I become a publisher?
@ArisTake3 жыл бұрын
If you work with an admin publishing company, you don't need to create your own "publisher" for ASCAP. Otherwise, you can make up a name and list that there for now as the "Publisher" in ASCAP.

Hey Ari, about to release my first song. I signed up with song trust and the mlc. Should I try to unregister with the MLC because song trust already works with them? Or does it not matter if you have accounts with both? I just don't want it to get too mixed up. Thanks!

If you don’t have a publisher, but has BMI as a PRO, Songtrust can collect mechanical royalties on your behalf?

Was going with the same question! I looked it up and it should be that way!

@@AnthonyLazaroMusic When I look at my Songtrust statements. I have seen where they collected from the MLC.

Songtrust collects from the MLC. If you are with Songtrust (or any other publisher or admin publishing company) you don't need to signup with the MLC - your publisher's got you covered.

I'm a little confused by CDBaby's statement on Mech' Royalties. If I put a Cd on CDBaby for purchase and streaming, do i need a publisher for them to collect my royalties? Do I need to register with MLC when using CDBaby? "CD Baby Pro Publishing Administration collects the publisher’s share of performance and mechanical royalties for compositions on behalf of songwriters".

I'm not trying to be rude but you speak way too quickly, almost like your anxious about something or stressed about something. I think you would get a lot more views and a lot more engagement if you could slow your speech down a bit. Take a little bit of time and slow down when you speak so that your words are more clearly understood.
