Writing Tips to consider As you draft those stories, consider the following: Consider all these when writing both your chapters and outline. A well written online serializing novel should have: 1. Compelling conflict between the lead characters 2. Compelling conflict between the lead and supporting characters. 3. Must be filled with suspense and tons of twists that keep readers on edge. 4. It should have good commercial value (the story should be intriguing enough to make readers spend on it) 5. There should be very good character development 6. There should be good plot development/pacing 7. Well-edited text Your final draft should be thoroughly edited to rid it of obvious errors. 8. Smooth language Do not make your language forced or too fake. You can achieve this by putting yourself in the shoes of each character. 9. Your content should include some or a combination of the following: (revenge, rebirth, weak to strong FL, headstrong/cold ML, genius babies, running away while pregnant, rejection, betrayal, etc) 10. Your opening chapter determines whether readers would stick around until the next chapter. a. Hook your readers with interesting content from the first sentence of chapter 1. b. Tone down on descriptions when opening the first chapter. The subsequent chapters also count, but its the opening chapter that would keep readers until they make it to the later chapters. Make it count. 11. Include more dialogues than narrations. Do not bore the readers with too many narrations and descriptions. a. They want more dialogues, monologues, reflections, etc. Give them that, and they would willingly give you their money. b. Let the dialogues or conversations flow naturally. You can do that better by putting yourself in the shoes of the characters. 12. Have personalities for each character. Do not give the same tone, action, reaction, etc to all characters. You need to disti guish them by their actions and mannerisms. That way, readers would know who is speaking or acting, even before you point it out. That is one way to engage them also.
