@@ritwijghosh208 Hey totally!! My experience happened at a local video production company in my town. I got in contact with them through my high school and I eventually met with the boss and asked him about an internship! What I did was basically do a lot of shooting commercial type videos for local businesses in my area as well as make storyboards for the videos and work with the cinematographer on what might look best for the shots!! I did some social media posting as well! Its really fun to learn about different types of gear that would be used. It’s really good to learn these types of things if you are considering business or marketing because video production is honestly the future! A lot of filmmakers actually can start out with jobs like these because it’s basically small video projects and the more you do it, the better you get!! If your serious about it, I say go for it and see if you can start an internship early and maybe see if you can adjust your schedule to work part-time! By the time you are a senior, you already have professional background and you might even decide you want to do something in communications or film!!

I did do some regular intern type of jobs though too which was getting the staff coffee and running to Walmart for supplies. All in all, I really recommend it to anybody who’s interested!! I’m currently looking into becoming a camera operator!

I think you might need to be connected with the right ppl. I’m connected with a bunch of ppl who incessantly post internship stuff (from tips to platforms where u can find them). Perhaps check out my connections and connect with them, so you get their posts on your feed? Also, with cold outreaches, make them as short and concise as possible

I don’t think u should do anything for college. Try to identify areas of growth u want to see in yourself, and pursue the activities that would challenge you there. Or, identity issues in ur community that you care about, and address them through an initiative. These are all EC “ideas” but in the end it’ll just be you acting on your priorities, and you know what you care about best (so i don’t think I’m qualified to speak to the specifics of what you can do). My goal is to have a research opportunity the the summer going to my senior year (2021). I’m afraid I am not qualified enough. At that point in time, I would have taken AP chem and AP physics, but only have taken honors biology my freshmen year. I want an opportunity where I can be introduced to research, but I’m afraid local universities want someone who is more qualified and knowledgeable about research. Any advice?

Hi! My biggest advice is to have no fear! Don't be afraid of rejections, and apply to as many things as possible. Do some outreach. If one professor says no, ask another one. You might have to get 100 rejections before 1 yes, but that's completely normal and okay. In addition, APs aren't as important as you might think. Professors and summer programs value your initiative and experiences as much as, or even more, than your school courses. Try running some science experiments at home, write about them online, and send those articles to the professors your cold emailing or the programs you're applying to. This shows both your interest and your experience. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to find remote science/biology internships? Where I live all non-essential lab and clinic personnel are not allowed to work. I feel like it would be fruitless if I spend all this time trying to find an internship when they would all tell me know anyway 😕

hmm have you submitted your application form? In there, I'd recommend you show an interest for mentoring younger students and talk about your experience tutoring, etc. Other than that, just be yourself in the interview! I do think they're pretty selective with their advisors though so don't take it personally if you don't get asked for an interview--big congrats if you do get the position though!! Good luck :)

Just extra info I'm a rising freshman at Georgetown University and I'm really interested in computer science/programming and data management. I was hoping to do an internship this summer doing something related to that but I'm also really interested in helping people with college advising/tutoring that's why I applied to bullseye when I found out about it. Your video was really helpful but on LinkedIn I don't usually see numbers so I can cold call.
