3:01 Turning on No Fail was the one thing that helped me most. I was stuck on an expert song, failing about a third of the way in, so I decided to turn on No Fail and just have fun, not caring how many blocks I hit. To my surprise at the end I had 9 out of 10 good cuts (still would have failed in normal mode as many were in sequence). Every time after that I reduced my number of bad cuts on no fail mode by around 5 each time. The next day I could turn off no fail mode and a couple of days later I did a Full Combo! Now it's still less than a week and I'm disappointed if I DON'T get a Full Combo! So No Fail mode was the key, although I still prefer to keep the speed at 100% because it helps your timing.

bonus tips turn off debris turn off note spawn effect turn on static lights and if your reaction times are lacking turn note spawn offset to close or closer so when you go back to default or stay the same you will notice i big difference in reaction time im currently at close for note spawn offset its best for me because right when the note spawns i can swing and it will hit also if the blocks are spawning to high then go in player settings and for the height dont stand strait or stand lower and click the meter stick then the blocks will spawn lower and if they spawn to low then stand as strait as you can or stand on something (MAKE SURE ITS STABLE AND YOU WONT FALL) then click the meter stick and if you play beat saber with other people on the same headset or your fine with the note spawn height then put it on automatic measurement or whatever its called well those are some bonus tips from me.

i know for a fact, trying incredibly hard levels to adapt really helps. i came back to beat saber after almost a year and had pretty much no experience that got me further than Expert on some levels. when i got halfway through the campaign, i decided to take Devourer Of Gods out for a spin let me just say, my arms and shoulders absolutely hate me for making that decision, but after trying it a few hours a day for 2 days, i actally managed to get all te way to 5 minutes, 48 seconds into the song, about half way, and now many official levels feel actually doable now, even a good amount of the expert+ ones the fact that i improved so quickly could have something to do with year old muscle memory being dug up from the catacombs of my brain, but i know for sure, challenging yourself early on does work

for the grip i recommend holding the handle and not the top of the controller, this allows the top of the controller to swing at a faster speed making bigger and cleaner cuts, besides it still is light and i use it a lot, it's very useful because it makes you feel so much faster.

Yes I just changed to the claw grip a couple of days ago and I'm scoring 115 points on my cuts a lot more often. I've invented a slight variation though, I have wide wrist straps which allow me to hold the Rift controllers nearer my wrists so only the tips of my fingers are over the ring which is a lot more comfortable than the standard claw grip.
@alwaxxys67053 жыл бұрын
@@kensmith5959 where can i purchase wide wrist straps :)
@kensmith59593 жыл бұрын
@@alwaxxys6705 Hi, I discovered that the regular design of controller straps which use a rubber loop can be converted to wrist straps. Normally the rubber loop goes round the controller button area or the controller ring but if you put the rubber loop over where the 2nd strap attaches to the base of the controller then both straps will go around your wrist to make a perfect wrist strap. Sorry, hard to explain without photos!
@yruherelmao8 ай бұрын
I tend to have the colors on default, because I play different songs from different ost packs and it helps quite a bit (and as you know the colors are different). It helps me because I can easily know which is my left and which is my right.. Something similar to that is just letting a friend pick out some random colors for you, or to just pick something random yourself without looking.

My brain is odd in the sense that it processes the blocks without even having to fully look at them, and sometimes I will blank for a couple of seconds and do sections of the song perfectly but can’t recreate it later, and then whatever songs I don’t beat one day, one - two days later the song is tossed into memory and I can do that section well.

Also one thing to remember that beat saber is a rythm game and what i mean by that is when u swing down most likely the next block is gunna be up and if swing to the right the next note is probably gunna be swinging to the left
@FluffySezyt3 жыл бұрын
Thats not really a tip tho lol, its kinda something you just puck up as you play.

...shame i already know all this stuff, but i remember when i was struggling to play any expert songs, i got the monstercat pack and saw overkill. died on the first wave of lotsa blocks and bc i liked the song i strived to full combo it and refused to play any other songs until then. when, just about three days later, i finally *beat* it (not full combo) i was happy! consistently practiced it until i finally full combo'd it, and then played a camellia map for shits and giggles and actually beat it first try. now, many months later, i have a 1148(?) combo on expert final boss chan (which has just about 1160 blocks iirc) and god that hurts. i wanna beat it so bad but i cant get that far anymore no matter how hard i try, and i just need some tips on how to stop fumbling. ive tried adjusting my controllers since i occasionally swing too early, but it just made my score worse. i cant do other grips bc theyre all uncomfortable. i use every part of my arm in these damed songs and my colors are distinct, my accuracy is fine but i just. mess up. and i dont know why.

dont forget to breathe is pretty high on my list
@saunshilu4 жыл бұрын
@@infinitevirus4826 well duh, but breathing at a steady pace helps loads when doing faster and faster songs, your body needs oxygen to move properly, and going long periods were you dont breath deprives your body of fuel for short runs reducing performance quite a bit

Y'all got any tips for hitting for example Blue notes all the way on the left? Like notes that are in opposite far sides of your arms.?

Its a bad map lmao

@@FluffySezyt well like a lot of maps that have notes swapped far from the corresponding hand, so I'm just trying to figure out the best way to hit notes on the left with my right hand better and vice versa because I miss those, like do you have to move your arm a lot or do you just twist your wrist a certain way?
@FluffySezyt3 жыл бұрын
No in that case u need to move ur whole arm, which is why da maps bad hehe

Another tip you forgot to add: do reduce debris because it flinging all over and you need it off to control your eyes or they would probably get irritated
@martymackey9029 Жыл бұрын
It will even get rid of the lights in the back ground of spawning notes so it doesn't hurt your eyes more

My problem right now is that expert mode on the first three albums(?) are super slow. But the other ones like spin eternally are still hard for me on expert mode. And yet I can do country rounds on expert plus and get an A... How do I break through this barrier?

Do you have to hit the blocks at a certain distance from you?? Like in DDR where you get Perfects, Great etc.? I don't even know why I'm failing songs. I'm hitting all the notes correctly..but I get a fail half way through.

U just have to hit the right color in the right dirwction

@@FluffySezytthere is a technique where you hit with the rim of the sabers but that’s generally for acc maps
