Well said from Papa Tosin. Acknowledge that you're good or getting better, never think that you're the best, don't try to be like anyone else or doubt yourself and how far you can go, don't look down on others. Essentially don't be a dick because you think that you're really good at playing the guitar.

This made me feel better about my own skills. I have recently heard of animals as leaders and I have become a huge fan of the band and tosin abasi himself. Listening to their music makes me want to learn their music. If I can find a riff that sounds similar to what I heard and play around with it, then that's a big accomplishment for me. It's also refreshing hearing that even the greatest players out there are all learning different music together. That's the definition of "community".

So glad to see you doing live stuff after being a fan of you for a decade. I remember you inspiring me the same way like Iron Maiden did. I used to go on the dragonforce site all the time. I was obsessed with you back in 2005. Loved that you played Ibanez. You made me want to grow my hair and self teach myself guitar. I ended up taking lessons from Matthew Mills. He also taught Jason Richardson. He’s local.

It’s such a thin line to walk between being confident and having an ego about your playing. Improvising especially takes a lot of confidence when making choices, but that’s the beauty of taking lessons in my eyes. Keeps you humble.
