My first two classes. I'm currently doing 1 class a week until my muscles recover fast enough for 2 a week. This girl who does 5 classes a week absolutely kicked my ass multiple times each time I went, it's amazing tbh. The more I know about jitjuitsu and then spar I see she has this impenetrable defense during sparring I cannot even comprehend, and she is only a white belt! I must learn this stuff. She isn't even the most skilled person in the class but I get a feeling because she is a woman she goes a bit harder with men compared to some of the guys there to compensate for the strength differences between men and women. Very impressive martial art. I must learn more.

5 weeks in and I must say, I feel so much better about myself mentally and physically. I have met so many awesome people at my gym. I have been training almost every day as well and am looking forward to continue doing so for years to come! I don’t know what id be doing if i didnt begin training! I suggest to anyone who is considering beginning training to do so! Regardless of your prior skillset, everyone starts off as a white-belt!

I'm sure this is been said before but I think that's what jocko was talking about with the weight adjustment. It is the most important aspect of fighting which is sensitivity. When you're nervous system is so familiar with the way both well executed and poorly executed Techniques feel, your body simply does what it's supposed to do instinctively. One of the most amazing things in sports is watching a great boxer slip an untelegraphed, fast, crisp and powerful three or four punch combination and he moves the way his opponent expect him to move and his opponent thinks that he will move into one of the follow-up shots, but the defender continues to move correctly out of harm's Way. The whole combination barely misses yet misses entirely because the timing of the slips is so perfect. the defender moves at the last possible second so that the punch connects with nothing but air. It continues to happen and eventually the defender gets ahead of his opponent's timing and counters .The counters that take place after a number of whiffed shots, does not have to be the hardest fastest punch but it will have the greatest effect because it destroys your opponent's timing. His nervous system is totally shocked and shut down. This is when guys get really rocked. In Jiu-Jitsu and grappling sports where you have physical contact the sensitivity is physical, whereas in boxing, you can have a sort of visual sensitivity and not even know why you are slipping or how to explain it. Regardless you can slip several times in a row if you're good enough without having any idea what your opponent is going to throw until it happens. Your decision-making is taking place on a millisecond basis. That is an example of where athleticism meets thousands of hours of hard training such that neural pathways are developing into instinct. Not to be cheesy and quote enter the dragon, but in the beginning when Lee says "when I attack I don't hit, it hits all by itself" is an example of the highest level of skill can have assuming that the instinct works most

I was talking to a friend that is 2nd Dan Aikido and he is interested in natural movement. When our hand moves to pick up an object, it move naturally in an automatic way. But the motion will be diferent if we racionalize it. With experience we learn how to excecute a moves to the point that it becomes intuitive, but that doesn't mean the move natural. I think this is an interesting concept that is true for everything we do. We can learn public speaking to the point that it feels comfortable, but that doesn't mean we came across as natural and truthfull. And the same goes for the way a leader leads, communicates and operates.

Carry It - There is a pause, and in that moment a lifetime passes. Time ceases to make sense as we are betrayed by our senses. Understanding life and death in the amount of time it takes to breath inward. Keep this sensation close because you will need it later in life. Follow that which reignites this feeling and the world will be a mere hurdle in the pursuit that most will fail. You will not be most, but few.

Always blame your lack of knowledge. Ask "how did you do that?" and "how do I not get caught in that?" Don't make excuses or say "in a real fight." No in a REAL submission battle in REAL life you lost. Be consistent, be obsessed with skills not tattoos, tap out shirts, entrance music and your hair. BJJ is mostly Knowledge so pay attention. As Bruce Lee said empty your cup so you can take in new liquid.

Its just like football. You can’t use the playaction (fake run handoff pass play) without first establishing a solid run game. Its why you here people say “the defense needs to respect the run”. Just like Jocko said you have to establish a true Choke as a threat. Once they respect it they guard it. Once they guard it you can use fakes to your advantage. Nobody is going to flinch at a jab that causes ZERO pain.
@crazymacedonianboi
@crazymacedonianboi 4 жыл бұрын
depends on the strength of the guy jabbing or how quick and explosive. and depends on how strong the chin is . when people get hit it stuns them . jabs set up everything else and they establish ur range.
@crazymacedonianboi
@crazymacedonianboi 4 жыл бұрын
even a weak job can bust a nose if they can’t defend against it . when someone keeps getting hit then their attacks won’t be as effective whether it’s choking them or whatever. leg kicks and body shots r not as hard to miss as head shots especially if ur opponent has twinkle toes and goes Mohammed Ali right
