Thanks for the video. Like your guides as always. Might just make one of these myself... Btw. Title is misleading ...the main currency from strikes is not those crafting mats and people may be intimidated by doing strikes. I recommend renaming to not turn people away. Also... what’s the rough total gold cost for the first bag and any additional bags? That would be very helpful to see up front. The reason I bring this is is that buying extra bag slots is often better than making bigger bags. You get more total inventory space (40 vs 32) for a cheaper price. I know the cons are that you can only buy so many additional slots and they are character bound but still, it is worth it for a lot of people.

Glad you liked the video 🙂 I am sorry you feel the title is misleading, that is not the intention for sure. Although the main currency for strikes is indeed not used to make bags, they're still one of the main sources for the ingots and shards, both of which are needed for the bags. What would you suggest the title should be? I am not sure what do you mean by the first bag. But I did show the recipes in the video and explained that the cost is basically the runes. But here are the costs roughly assuming you'll craft them from scratch. 20 Slot Bag = 10g 24 Slot = 30-31g 28 Slot = 60-63g 32 Slot = 140-148g As for buying a slot vs crafting the bags. If we're talking about the 32 slot bag slot, that is indeed NOT cost-effective, and that is the mistake most people make. Whenever someone mentions upgrading bags, they assume it's 32 slots. However, the 24 and the 28 slots are actually very cost-effective. Let's make a comparison with prices. I'll assume I'm a new player that has the 20 slot starter bag + 4 Bag Slots by default, each has 18. For the 24 Bag Slots Looking at the current Gem Prices, 400 Gems = 133 Gold - Cheapest 18 Slot Bag = 2-3g - Total Cost is about 135-136 gold - Extra Bag Space = 18 - Crafting 24 Slot Bag = 30-31 gold -Total Cost for Crafting 4 of the 24 Slot Bag = 124 Gold - Extra Bag Space for upgrading from 18 slots to 24 = 24 So you get Extra Space AND pay less by upgrading from 18 slots to 24 slots. ------------------ For the 28 Bag Slots - Crafting 28 Slot Bags = 63 - Total Cost For Crafting 4 of the 28 Slot Bag = 252 - Extra Bag Space for upgrading from 18 slots to 28 = 40 If you want that same amount of extra space with bag slot expansions, you'll need 2. So the cost would be 266 Gold for the expansions + 5 gold for 2 X 18 Slot bags = 271g And in return, you get extra 32 slots So again you get Extra Space AND pay less by upgrading from 18 slots to 28 slots.

@@GamingTutorialswithJohny this is a fantastic point. I did not considered going from 18-24/28. You are right of course... I might just have to craft a few of these bags myself. Regarding the cost difference between first and subsequent bags... The first bag requires you to complete the collection. So if you are only making one bag, then it's going to be very costly through this method. But if you make 10 more bags, the cost of the collection is spread across the bags. Or we can think of it as the first bag costing more and the rest being cheaper (the prices you mention in your analysis above). Regarding the title. Since most methods (opening chests) of obtaining ice shards provide the other currency, you could just title crafting with ice shards and explain in the video that the other materials would be obtained at the same time. I personally open all the chests in the marches every day and do either Drakkar or storm meta. I almost never do strikes. If I didn't already like your content, I would not have even clicked this video.

Hey Johny - Yet another great guide. I really enjoy your coverage of the less "main-stream" topics, where you uncover these hidden gems. Such a pity so many runes are required, and that there's no workaround to save on the gold costs. I will, however, start my work on these bags today. I had 98% completion on Master of the Ancestral Forge already and it never even occurred to me to make sure of these recipes I was receiving as rewards. Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

if you are lazy and have any spare characters you could also park them at the chests, i had 2 park at the Large chest and move to get other one (3 on map) and grab anything else on the way there like smaller chests or norn chest etc. just log in, interact, profit :D. i had over 10k eternal ice at one point, just from the chests, useful for map currency conversion, also karma limited depending on your account.

Video idea after reading other people’s comments.... personal bank guilds may be something folks are interested in... I have one from 2012 with 150 slots and it’s a huge quality of life improvement. Your audience may be interested in the 50 slot banks that don’t take too much effort to make. What do your think? It’s def a longer term effort for a video since you like to show each step (which I love, don’t change it!!) but it would be a gem of a video. Your community can help each other with the few guild missions that will be required.

It does not seem to me that you save too much money compared to crafting 32-slot orichalcum bags. Considering all the boreal weapon costs included etc. You would have to craft a lot of bags to have the cost be worth it i expect. Do you have a cost comparison for them? At least just an approximation?

32 slot bags are kind of a luxury item, which is why the guide talks about getting bigger bags in general. The bag slot expansion from the gem store is worth it for sure, but only to a certain point. For example, upgrading your bags from 18 slots, to the 24 slot bags I mention in this video, is actually going to give you more space and even be just a little cheaper than buying another bag slot and putting an 18 slot bag in it.

Great guide. But.. 32 slot, that’s something for the ‘elites’, who unlocked all the bag slots, and still have problems with inventory space. If Ure a newbie, ure better of buying a bag slot for 400 💎 and wearing another 18 slot bag

You are 100% correct. 32 Slots is more of a luxury item, and you don't NEED it. But that is also exactly why the video is not just about the 32 bag, I also explained in details how to get the 24 and the 28 slot. I agree with you actually and I am glad you said that because I would like to explain why I make my videos this way 🙂 This video could have been much shorter indeed. I could have simply explained a couple of points in 5 mins and that's it. But that will assume those watching the video will already know some info. However, this video and all my other content are for new and casual players. So what I and you may know very well and be easy for us to understand, may not common knowledge to my targeted audience. And I don't want whoever will watch the video to wonder what does this part mean or how did he do that etc.. The other alternative is to divide them into shorter videos. So for example, I can make a video only to explain that collection, another only to show how to get the ingots and shards, etc.. The problem with this approach is that a lot of those videos will end up being useless and boring for most. This also means more wasted time and energy. So I prefer to include all the info I can in 1 video, and let you as a viewer decide what you want to watch, and what you want to skip. But non the less, I would like to know what would you have done differently. Maybe your tips will help me in future content 🙂

I think i was referring to the middle part of the video where you walk through the collecting of the recipes, the ingredients to buy and the crafting steps. Its like a 5min talk that could have been condensed with “buy these items of the tp”. Anyways, it was a year ago, who knows what was going through my mind. I finally got back to this video as i’m finally going to spend some gold on this now i’ve actually done lw5 with the return to content a few months ago.
