It also lets you put in *most* account/soulbound equipment, useful for transforming those levelup reward exotics or dungeon weapons/armor into things that can be salvaged or sold. Also used to transform karma into gold via forging up mid-tier karma armor to get linen/leather of the pricey tiers for only karma (and time).

I love seeing "2012" for a game that still gets played very frequently by many people ten years later. That's one of the best marks of a good game there is imo. I can't think of many games that have ten years under their belt that are still eagerly played to this day.

Pro tip: There is a TON of exotic weapons with unique skins. So, you can unlock skins (maybe also remove sigils/runes with endless extractor and sell them on the tp) and then toss them into the mystic forge for some character value neutral gambling. Also helps with narrowing down options in Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlocks to the more expensive options. Using this, minus the upgrade extractor, I managed to get 2 cheaper precursors. If you happen to get Dusk/Dawn, all the more power to you. This also works with the rare weapons that have a lot of skins, though below that you might as well salvage. Note that there is a fair bit of filler skins, that can be gained from items worth a few copper-a few gold. Ps. Anet, please add a filter for locked/unlocked skins. Right now, it is hard to find more cheap exotic items with skins I do not have unlocked yet. Would also work wonders on Black Lion Skins.

I usually keep medallions for the Mystic Forge Daily. And now I have learned another way to get Gemstones, time to stock up on Crests. Also worth noting you can create a portable Mystic Forge so you can do it anywhere, and not just Lions Arch etc...

the chance is quite low though. so it might be easier to just salvage the yellows and possibly buy exotics. except for precursors, exotics are not that expensive anyway

@@demenion3521 I always check the TP price of any Exotic I haven't already unlocked the skin for. If it sells for more than 50s, I sell it, but if it sells for less than 50s, then I salvage it. (I've been waiting five years to get Invisible Boots from a Treasure Mushroom, and there is no way in the Alchemy I'm gonna sell those the first time I get them even if they go for 9000g!)

I missed one thing here: Loadstone Crafting Combine Two Cores (t5), 1 Mystic Crystal, 1 T6 Dust and 1 Bottle of Elonian Wine to craft them into a loadstone To be fair, it's not a profit on every loadstone, but there are some types where you can earn good cash by doing this. or if you need a specific type of loadstone and have lots of cores (t5)

3:50 Instead of four exotic weapons, you can substitute one of them for a Mystic Forge weapon and it will function as a random exotic weapon. Note: using 3 greatswords + mystic forge stone will result in a random weapon rather than a greatsword. Alternatively, you can use an ectoplasmic stone instead which has a chance of dropping the mystic infusion + exclusive exotic weapons.

Probably one "not so must know" recipe for the mystic forge is the recipe for the mystic forge itself. Yes, you heard right! You can make your own Mystic forge gizmo and carry it around in your inventory and use it anywhere. At least I found it quite useful before buying VIP pass as I didn't always need to travel to LA. I know the feeling. I quit a bit before HoT came out, and there's so much new info and so few ways to learn it unless you want to read every bloody page of the wiki. WIthout Mukluk's vids I probably never would have known about incredibly helpful stuff like the Prototype Position Reverser (something so useful it should have been a reward from a story mission so everyone could be sure to get one).

So Clovers are pseudo-random and the 1 and 10 recipes are part of the same RNG pool so you want do 3 single clover recipes (assuming they fail) then do a 10 to have a much higher chance of getting the the 10. with this you can have about 60% return as oppose to a 33% return Edit: for spelling, will find link later.

Amalgamated Gemstones are used to forge/craft 2nd Generation Legendary weapons/armor (i.e. Legs created _after HoT_ came out). For _any_ Legendary weapon, you will require one whole stack of 250 Amalgamated Gemstones. These are then used to make 250 ascended Crystaline Ingots, and then _those_ are used in one of the four final components required to make a Legendary. One reliable way to get AGs daily is to fight each of the map-meta bosses in _HoT, PoF_ and from _Living World_ Season 3 onward. Regardless of if you participate in the same map more than once per day, you can only get ONE AG each day before the Dailies reset, so bouncing between all the meta(s) I mentioned will get you about 8-10 depending on your diligence _each day._ IMPORTANT: Every time you get a "________ Hero's Choice Chest" from completing a map meta, always, Always, ALWAYS select the AG as your reward! _Yes,_ you can buy AGs off of the trading post (and if you find yourself with an excess and need some gold fast, they do _sell_ quite well too), but going for a whole stack of them will require quite a bit of gold, so grinding map metas is free but time consuming! Also, some annual festivals have merchants that sell AGs for festival-exclusive currency; please check the vendors accordingly. AGs are used for a smattering of other one-off crafting recipes, but by far the most common use for them is in Legendary crafting (which can be months-long marathons in-and-of themselves. Mystic forging amalgamated gemstones arent worth it at all though as you lose a lot of gold. 25 of all 4 orbs or crests costs about 8 gold plus 5 ectos cost about 1 gold and if u get only 10 gemstones you just lost 2 gold. For those who may contemplate doing it. Even if u have hundreds of orbs, sell them and buy gemstones.

You only need 75 orbs * 8s each is 6 gold plus 5 ectos is about 7 g so even if you get unlucky, just slightly cheaper than the cost of AG on the trading post. Your mistake is that you need 75 orbs not 100.
