Train them everyday. Train them light. Train them heavy. Do high volume. Focus on the stretch. And don't be lazy on them and end up with 16 inches calves after years of training like me. Start working on them right now.

@Fev Ola Train them harder. Overload them progressively. If you can double the load you can move using your calves there is no biological way for them not to grow.

@@dunklebaumwolle164 well think about it. The calves are used to insane volume. Every step u take requires calves. So it makes sense that they can tolerate more volume than other muscle groups

As someone here said, calves are used to very high volume due to walking etc. Something that blew my calves up massively is jogging in soft sand. I jog about 3-5km along the beach (if you have one near you, or a desert I guess) in the soft part of the sand. It kind of mimicks being a fat guy because your calves have to work extra hard to stabilise the weight.

I agreed, one time I was dragging a cooler full of beverage for about a mile on sand in a camping trip. I couldnt sleep that night. My calves were swollen I thought I was going to lose em that night.

Not only that, but do it in a good pair of zero drop shoes like Altra and use a toe strike. If you’ve never run with a toe strike, I HIGHLY recommend giving it a shot (especially with zero drops). Your calves with be on absolute fire after.
@liammorgans7329
@liammorgans7329 4 жыл бұрын
@@FinalFormation I do it with no shoes on, the less false stability the better, so that the muscles can naturally do why they evolved to do.

@@liammorgans7329 Yeah, my preferred shoes are Vibram fivefingers for that same reason. Most folks used to traditional running shoes might find something like Altra’s a little more manageable.

Great video! Seated calf raises never did anything for me until I learned to do standing ones correctly (going for full stretch, pausing at ends of the movement etc.). When I got some decent gains from that, I started doing seated ones again and I'm blown away at the results. Learning the mind-muscle connection was obviously easier for me doing the standing ones.

I've found the best calf exercise is when you kneel down (towel needed) tuck your toes and palm of your feet under a bar or heavy sofa and lean forward back and forth keeping the tension. Trunk slightly bent (if your body is straight it goes to your hamstrings.) Then watch your your calves blow up. Brilliant. I highly recommend
