I sure wish my favorite KZbin teachers would stop the background music when the are speaking. Music is great and it fills up the spaces with no dialog; the trouble is when you are trying to concentrate and the pure gold advice. It does seem that I am the only that mentions this, but I think others might feel the same way.

I dont know who else feels this way but ive always thought its not so much the equipment you use its how you use it. I have a canon DSLR and its a great camera but i dont bring it everywhere. I have a handycam camera to film whatever yet on my phone i can do all of that. Beautiful stunning photos and filming can be achieved through any gear you use. In my opinion.

"Instruction"? Seriously! Jeven currently has 371,000 subscribers and this video alone 727,000 views. How are your numbers Mr. Critic? Laughable arrogance! What you are calling "depth of field" is actually shallow depth of field. Depth of field is just the measure of what is in focus form near to far. You can have a very shallow depth of field or a nearly infinite depth of field, but the term "depth of field" by itself doesn't specify any specific amount of DOF.

I completely agree w/ all your tips. You mentioned issues that most people don't even understand. And I'm glad you did, because it only emphasizes that to look professional, a business person should hire a video professional like you. Or they could hire me, wink wink. I think more videos like this one are needed. This is a quality video. You obviously thought about how to shoot a good video, how to make it look and sound good. I like that simple lighting in the bkgd. (Yet another factor people don't consider.) The only things I'd add are 1) lighting/exposure issues while shooting; and, 2) the fact that LUTs shouldn't be the end-all to make videos look good. LUTs are nice, I've used them and still use them on occasion, but it's often so much better if you know how to manually color grade.

Good stuff. It just drives me crazy to see people shooting video in portrait. I nicely try to tell them to think about the screen that people will be looking at their video on. I could probably do another video on this topic and cover a bunch of other tips. The vertical thing is a bummer because it looks so uncinematic but our clients are now asking us to shoot vertical for some of our projects now. I think there’s gonna be more and more of this content coming out. Gonna have to find new ways to make vertical videos cinematic and new tricks to really make it look good.
@StanCook
@StanCook 6 жыл бұрын
I don't get it. I just ask them if there is some kind of screen that show video in the vertical? I also mention to them that, to me, portrait mode is just for stills and a portrait which is really just a vertical photo. Other wise all video is shown on 9x16 type screens.

Could you please make a video comparing a real scene from a movie and recreate it with an iPhone using filmic pro?
