HOW TO GET CLEAN HDMI OUTPUT FROM THE PANASONIC HC-V770

Hi, Thank you for this video! I just encountered needing to clean up my HC-V800, which is close enough I figured to the camera you demonstrate, to work with my ATEM Mini. However, I followed your steps EXACTLY...first doing an 'INITIAL SET' and then each of your other steps. However, the 'AI,' the camera icon, and the to/from arrows still appear. Can you please let me know what I'm missing? Thanks!

You need a 4k capture card and need to set the HDMI output to 4k on the camcorder

In our VX870 camera there is the red i to the left of "flame on top of a square" (Intelligent Auto Focus - Low Light Warning). Any idea if there are any advantages for this setting, and how to turn it off?

Hi! Thx for this. It's very enlighting. We are having problems in capturing the hdmi output from our HC-V770. Thinking that maybe the cable is faulty, we tried two different cables already but we get no signal when connecting it to a television set and also no signal when connecting it to an elgato camlink 4k device. So in stead we use the A/V output and an A/V to hdmi converter that we feed into the elgato. Of course that's not the best way of doing things. I 'm wondering if it can have something to do with the firmware? Or can it be something else? Anyone who has experience with this problem or suggestions on what to try?

You need a capture device to connect a camera to your computer. Something like the Elgato HD60 or a Decklink Mini Recorder that goes inside your computer.

Hi thanks for this! I was wondering if the 4k Panasonic camcorders also have the ability to have a clean HDMI feed? My church is looking at either this HD V770 camera or the Panasonic VXF1. I'm thinking the VXF1 is more versatile as a general purpose camcorder but it's no good to us if the HDMi out feed can't be clean for streaming purposes. Thanks!

Hello AJay Thanks for the video. Maybe you can help us. We are a small church and livestream our services on KZbin using the Panasonic HC-VX870. To livestream we connect the camera to our laptop using Camnova Video Capture Card (Mini-HDMI on the camera and USB port on the laptop) Then from the soundboard Ch5 we connect the jack to the mic port on the camera. The problem we have is that the sound for the livestream is captured by the camcorder's internal mic and NOT the sound board. I thought that plugging the cable from the sound board on the camera's jack would automatically turn the internal mic off and grab all the sound directly from the sound board. The opposite is true. The internal mic continues to record all the sound so if I talk, sneeze, cough, etc its all recorded. Any way around this problem?

It should do it automatically but you could just connect your sound directly to the computer instead of the camera. I'm not exactly sure why it isn't working. I had that same camera and it worked just as you described when I connected external audio

@@AJaytheCEO running in 1080, I don’t know offhand if it’s the 4K version. But even Panasonic couldn’t make the HDR icon disappear. Having worked with a whole bunch of other Panasonic gear, they really missed the mark with this one. The user interface is terrible compared to even their other camcorders.

External display is the only setting you need to turn off, the rest you can keep on for the camcorder display

help?? Ive got this camera, followed instructions in this vid to the letter. and it still shows up as color bars in OBS! my hdmi capture works with a trashy Ansteker vid cam, but nothing but color bars with this nice camera! Anyone please Help!!

Color bars are generated by the capture device not the camera. I get bars with my uTap if nothing is coming through to the device. Are you sure that your capture device can handle the resolution and frame rate the camera is sending?

Are you connected to anything? Most cameras if you are recording 4k won't output 4k over hdmi so the output is turned off while you record
