I’ve been watching Tim for years and ever since the whole VPN joke started I’ve been confused and flustered. Overall I was under the impression that VPNs were a good thing for anyone who frequently uses a PC. I get how the whole “changing your location to somewhere easier” would be slightly frowned upon for a big streamer but with how much money they have and how well known they are, using a VPN would be an added level of privacy and security for them and their family. Majority of people sleep at night, so connecting to a region that is 3-5 hours in their sleep cycle results in huge reduction in a "live" player base so more bots fill in. But the original statement still stands, it's an additional layer, like i use VPN, but I choose the closest one that isn't in my state. I consider that fine as it's not gaining anything. But considering the way the world works, the possibility of something occurring is now taken as "its definitely occurring".

At the very least his normal squad mates all use it that brings him into those lobbies. I’m pretty sure Tim has a higher K/D than myself and I never see non prestiged players after 50 days game played... They don’t exist in top lobbies. Now when I turn on my VPN that I just downloaded earlier this week, all of a sudden my lobbies are identical to Tim’s lol

Fornite is actually the game that gives the solution. If you look at the number of crowns in your lobbies, you realize that the number of crowns greatly increases after your first win. To a number that doesn’t make sense mathematically unless there are many bots in the first few lobbies and then they concentrate all winners in a lobby. Basically, first few games are easy and then the difficulty brutally scales.

From what I hear, VPNs help get in easy lobbies. I don't know how they work or not. I can tell you me having a 1.99 and my buddy having a .32, we should not have a team with a 5.37 and 4.29. Despite them playing in easy lobbies, they weren't bots. They had good movement.

SBMM doesn't exist; it would take way too long and would be way too much effort on the devs' part to implement matchmaking that seeks to balance KDs within a given latency range. There aren't enough players and the devs don't care that much.
