I understand what this Pastor was saying about forgetting the past and pressing onto what lies ahead. But he also said to lay the hurt down on the alter of God. In my way of thinking…there are wounds and trauma of the past that can only be healed by remembering-and giving it to God as we remember. Walking with God through those memories is different than secular psychology and all the therapy without an emphasis on the supernatural healing of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for sharing your perspective-it’s clear that you’ve spent time reflecting on this message and how it applies to real-life wounds and trauma. We appreciate the depth of thought you’ve brought to this discussion. 🙏 I think you’ve touched on something very powerful: the process of remembering and walking with God through those memories can indeed be a crucial part of healing. Bringing those wounds to the altar isn’t about forgetting or denying their existence, but rather surrendering them to the Lord so His supernatural healing can work in and through them. Pastor David's heart, I believe, was to emphasize the importance of surrender and trusting God with even the deepest hurts. But you’re absolutely right-walking with God through those memories, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, is a sacred process and very different from secular approaches that don’t involve the transformative power of His presence. Thank you again for offering this insight-it’s such an important reminder of the nuance and grace needed when addressing these deep topics. ❤️

The ways of GOD is beyond fleshly understanding, that we should give mercy to those that hurt us. By all mean when these things are accomplished we see the true kingdom of GOD were the inner wound are healed and that hatred is replaced with compassion. Love heal all wounds and the brightness of GOD is having the strength to suffer for them that lack belief to bring them to salvation through love that the world did not understand in the grace of Jesus Christ. AMEN Glory be to GOD hallelujah, AMEN.

My mother despises me. It's hard not to resent her after so many times of poor treatment. Sometimes she has been kinder, since my early childhood, other times says things an enemy would not say to me. I don't know what to do. I am a direct homicide survivor; my disabled son isn't feeling well and my own mother picks on me with what seems like hate. Please pray for me.

Don't agree with all that he said in this message about forgetting past abuse.. that's easy to say when you have not been a victim and also very insensitive to survivors. Of course the power of the Holy Spirit can heal hurts but it's totally wrong to minimize sin of an adult abusing a child. It's a crime! .
@world_challenge4 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and concerns about the message. We truly appreciate your honesty and the courage it takes to bring this up. We completely agree with you that abuse, especially against a child, is a serious crime and a grievous sin. It’s not something to be minimized or brushed aside, and addressing it with justice, compassion, and care is essential. Survivors carry deep wounds, and the journey toward healing can be long and complex. We believe the intent of the sermon was not to downplay the seriousness of abuse but to highlight the power of God to bring healing and restoration, even in the most painful circumstances. However, we can see how certain parts of the message may have come across as insensitive to the lived experiences of survivors. That’s certainly not the heart of the Gospel or Pastor David's intention. Thank you again for sharing your perspective-it’s an important reminder of the need to approach this topic with great care and understanding!
