A bit more clarification on the "preparing for the future section"..... Let's take Meg as an example which has 5 common outfits and 4 uncommon outfits which are both available in the cosmetics store as well as in the album. Now since there isn't any cosmetic that is in the album which isn't available to purchase, then your best shot to prepare is to buy all 9 of those Meg outfits since you cannot predict which cosmetic will be in the Nether Gallery reward whenever Meg comes in the Nether Gallery. Now assume the other case where there are 9 common+uncommon in the album, but only 8 are available to purchase. This means that 1 cosmetic is missing, and perhaps it might not be fruitful to buy cosmetics for Meg since perhaps devs have already decided which cosmetic for Meg will be in the reward. So it's a waste of shards. The main digging/exploration you/I will need to do is check which characters don't have missing cosmetics when comparing the cosmetic section and the album so that you can buy all the common+uncommon for that character before any one of them disappears randomly. Because there are a few people who were able to get auric cells for Trapper/Claudette when the Nether Gallery was first introduced(if you checked my community post on it) when around 95% of the playerbase were not able to purchase and didn't own the cosmetics for them. Also special thanks to my subs who commented on my post/videos to let me know that you can get auric cells from the Nether Gallery and it works! :)

Yeah that's the thing about the clothes. You need to have it way before the nether gallery updates. Most likely I might have gotten it from the Entity's Treasure or Rift Pass months ago hence even I don't remember how I got that cosmetic without buying it. The trick here is to own the clothes before the update drops. Which you cannot predict, hence out of Jane/Spirit/Doctor/David, most people only got lucky with the David one.

Hi in nether gallery killer section the spirit has a costume in common category named "In the Family (Brownish colored)" which is still available for purchase in the cosmetic shop (the killer - Spirit). == Now my main context is if I bought the skin costume with iridescent shards for 2,700 early without finishing the event can I get the auric cells? That would be correct. However, I think the costume you get from the nether gallery is not the brown one. I feel like it's the red one which you can see in the album, but not available to purchase. You are free to try it since the brown costume is only 2,700 shards.

Yes, anything you own which is the reward in the Nether Gallery will convert into Auric.

You need to have the cosmetic beforehand. Then the duplicate gets converted into auric cells.

You needed to own the cosmetics before the nether gallery updates. Since once a character is added to the nether gallery, there is no way to buy the cosmetic you get as the reward.
