Whassup Finntastics, I forgot to clarify that Schengen Area is an area of around 25 European countries where there is no border control, so basically if you come outside of EU, it's automatically non-Schengen ==> Terminal 2. I know I didn't film anything at Terminal 1 cos most of the flights arrive at T2. If there's any extra questions, let me know!
@ana-mariaalrasul923122 күн бұрын
Is this still valid? I've read that now there is only one terminal. Looking forward to Helsinki experience next year!

I wish I had seen this before my trip in early 2019 when I had a transfer flight in Helsinki on my way back from Japan. Eventually I found my way to the city after getting on the wrong train. I hope to go back again!
@eliashaavisto13724 жыл бұрын
I would make a few corrections to your video.The two terminals are based on airline alliances, which are OneWorld, StarAlliance and Skyteam. Airlines which are part of the StraAllance or Skyteam(Lufthansa, SAS, KLM) and all the lowcost(Norwegian, Easyjet, airBaltic) operate from T1 and which are part of the OneWorld(Finnair only in Helsinki) operate from T2. And only part of the T2 is non-schengen area, not the whole terminal. Schengen and non-schengen are separated from each other with two bridges. Airlines which operate to non-schengen destinations from Helsinki are Qatar, Japan airlines, Finnair, Aeroflot and a few Chinese airlines. So basically, if you are arriving with Finnair from Schengen country, you end up to the Schengen part of the terminal two, and from non-schengen country to non-schengen part of the terminal. if you are with Lufthansa, KLM or low-cost airlines, you end up in T1. The terminal 1 is only for Schengen country's and T2 for both, non-schengen and Schengen. That is how it goes normally, but all the flights are now operated from T2, because the T1 check-in and security check areas are now currently under renovation, which is going to end up at some point in 2021.

Dear Alexi, thanks for useful tips! I wonder if there any requirements for luggage size and weight that I can take with me to the train? I'm from Kazakhstan and there are minimum requirements as to size and weight of luggage that can be transported via buses for free. If the luggage exceeds the limits, then you have to pay for extra weight/size.
