Nice job figuring it out. 👍 you can also change the level with pulse as well as RF gain.

I tried to adjust it with alsamixer, but never saw the needle move.

I would suggest using Fake It for split operation. That will keep only one VFO active and allow for compensating for the lower frequency response near the edges of the audio passband.
@temporarilyoffline2 жыл бұрын
I tried out fake it and rig and both of them switched VFOs on me. I assume once there is proper rig control for the X6100 this problem will be gone.

Thanks Steve, really appreciate all your work with the X6100. Inspired me to buy one in the recent sale. Just curious if you've done any FT8 update videos for this rig, especially in regard to the R1CBU option?

I have not yet - the latest firmware from xiegu even has WFView server built in. So I'm excited to try that put. Look for a future video soon!

Hi! I have a question out of range of the current topic. Is it possible to connect to X6100 an external monitor? It should be possible via USB-C port and it seems to me it doesn't work.
@temporarilyoffline2 жыл бұрын
It's a USB-C connector only, it's a USB 2 device. So no video out

I installed the drivers, but the pc does not even see the device. Is there a setting within the radio I need to change?
@temporarilyoffline8 ай бұрын
Drivers? You shouldn't need any drivers other than those auto-installed. Did you plug in the right USB port? Is the radio in data mode?

Check to make sure your user is in the 'dialout' group? Maybe select the other serial port in the drop down? I'm not 100٪ sure. I need to update this video because this was a "hey this works!" More than it was a how-to. Send me a DM on the discord or email and I can help you out with it.

@@temporarilyoffline yes, cat control works; it decodes, when the X6100 transmits there is no audio/alc. I’ll keep messing with it. It works on my Windows machine but not my rPi.

It's a fun way to make contacts without getting stuck in a horrible ragchew, it's a good way to test antennas, radios, batteries, locations and lastly, it's a good proof of concept that has spawned a lot of innovation. But I totally agree, you have to give it a purpose in your station, it doesn't really come with it's own.
