Something to consider. I don't ever use flowable in the box, due to the polymerization shrinkage that occurs. Since flowable is unfilled with particles, it has the highest shrinkage of all. Thus, more opportunity for leakage and recurring decay. Good luck.

Look at the tooth in the beginning and look at it at the end. Your lingual embrasure needs work... way too bulky and contact is too wide. You should have held the band against the lingual end of the tooth with a flat composite instrument while curing it so that you could keep the buccal contact correct but keep the lingual embrasure from looking too bulky. If you took an x-ray and looked at the radiograph, I'm also guessing that the marginal ridge contour in your composite is straighter (less round) than the natural tooth was, so floss won't be guided through the teeth naturally.. this is caused from not shaping the composite before curing along the marginal ridge area. You will spend more time shaping composite after it's cured than if you do it in the soft stage. The last thing I would have done differently is shape the occlusal anatomy to almost perfect before curing. Once you cure and then touch a drill to the composite, you introduce microfractures in the composite and potentially lower the lifespan of it. It's always worse to contour composite with burs after curing in terms of longevity. Keep in mind you'll probably have to adjust further once you check the bite, which is even more drilling on the composite.

Kevin Pham naa he’s right. Dentists should only be posting videos if the end result is ideal. Not shoddy like this.

I'm a 2nd year dental student at ACTA (Netherlands), and I know there are multiple ways of working, but I noticed some things of which I am instructed not to do, so I am wondering what are your thoughts about these observations; No suction when rinsing etch - etch may affect other teeth Fluid between tooth and matrix when bonding - no water allowed Blowing on bonding before hardening - creating air bubbles, no even spread and spreading bond all over the place Using flowable - no proof of better adaptation + not strong
@matthewscott93116 жыл бұрын
you are supposed to gently blow air on bond for 5 seconds to spread it around before curing.

According to Grossman's, air is lightly blown on primer for solvent to evaporate

You need some water molecules, most solvents on the adhesive are hidrophilic
@iraxican4 жыл бұрын
1. although Enamel should be dry, Dentin should be kept wet before applying bonding because the bonding components are hydrophilic so they displace the water inside the dentinal tubules and create a hybrid layer. 2. You're supposed to blow gentle air on bonding until there is no material wiggling, this is done in order to evaporate the solvent.

Try using a disc next time to shape your interproximal contact. The lingual embrasure has not been opened enough.
