How To Get Good - Train for the Worst

It's one thing to train, it's another to train in the right ways. Whatever is going to work for you in the moments you need it most, that's the right training. It's not enough to just train during the activity though, you have to live, breathe and think every moment in the right way. That way even when you're at your worst, you're still at your best, because that becomes your nature. That's who you are. Every moment, every action, every thought defines you. So what are you defining yourself as in this moment? What about the next? Is it good? How can you improve?
I went to a dark place recently and despite still feeling weak, I'm actually glad to see how well I handled it this time. I actually got physically sick from the emotional stress and concerns. They were intense. But outside of how I felt, it didn't matter. I still kept my thoughts in check. I didn't let them stray too far into the negative, no matter how much I felt like I wanted to. I still kept on living well (eating the right foods, exercising, sleeping, cleaning, etc). To be able to handle emotion that well is something I always wanted but never thought I'd achieve. I guess the silver lining here is that I got a chance to prove how far I've come since those years of depression.
This video is for the people who are struggling. I wanted to show you all even though it can seem I am totally in control and have everything covered, I can still fall too. And this is how I handle it now. That's what's important. How we react. I hope you can try for this too. Don't lose sight of your goal, no matter how you feel. Separate the emotion from the action. Your emotions will pass, eventually. Just keep doing the right things now so that when the time comes, you won't have lost anything or made anything worse. Even if you can stay at your current level throughout the depression, that's a win. The goal is to always improve. Don't forget it.
Good luck.

Not sure how many people noticed but I've barely uploaded recently. Been doing a lot of work behind the scenes, some exciting stuff coming, but also been dealing with some not so great stuff. Just wanted to make this video for the others struggling out there, making sure we stay focused on the goals and continue training in every moment of every day, but also to let you all know I'm ok and I'll be uploading more frequently again soon.

That's one thing you don't have to do ... worry for me. Even when completely broken, I'm ok. It took years to build that kind of strength, but that's why I share it here. I hope everyone can get to that state that even if everything is just bad, we still do what we have to do until we recover or things improve. And even if they don't, we don't stop trying. Once we see someone else do it, it becomes easier. I'm letting people know it's possible. I hope they can find a way too. As I mentioned, in a way I welcome this fall, because it gives me a chance to make major changes... to set that champion spirit in stone. It's one thing to KNOW, it's another to really BELIEVE. This is giving me a chance to prove everything I've been saying and truly believe it beyond doubt. Always find a way. Turn the bad into good. It can be done. I am going to use every bit of this negativity to improve who I am and my life as much as possible. I doubt I'll fail, because we only really fail when we stop trying. Thanks for the love, back at you!

@@RocketJumpNinja You've inspired me to completely change how I approach life. For years I had let things get to me, and when my mind crumbled I just let it sit there, and wallowed in the rubble. You've now inspired me to build a proper lifestyle, one that will give me a solid foundation- and I genuinely think that I can do it now, thanks to your video. Thank you for sharing this with us. Not only have you reassured people that you're fine but you've also inspired quite a few people to actually start getting their lives on track. Thank you, again.

It also helps to remind yourself that you (and most of us) are lucky to live in rich countries where we are allowed to speak our mind and have a life that's mostly free of life-threatening hardships, like hunger, disease, war etc. That always helps to put things back into perspective for me and makes me appreciate the things I have and the things around me a lot more.

I needed this so much. I am in such a horrible position right now, I'm in the middle of a disability battle that is going badly. I can't work, I'm currently living with my mom and my girlfriend is paying for my medication as it is not covered by insurance. I have OCD anxiety panic disorder and a slew of spinal complications. I can game, but can't sit for very long (about 2 hours max, even in a very nice chair) because of the physical pain it causes me. It's been my dream for a long time now to get a streaming setup, because that is one thing I could actually do to earn money, that my disabilities wouldn't hinder. It would also give me a creative outlet, and allow me to make friends and interact with like minded people. Thankfully, my biological mom just came into an inheritance and was able to fund my building a new PC and using my old one as a dedicated streaming PC. I'm just waiting on newegg to get some parts back in stock so I can put it all together. I cant' wait to start making videos. Ever since I stopped working, I have been so depressed, and just felt so lethargic. I sleep so much of the day away, because I don't want to face it. Unfortunately I did turn to drugs and alcohol, over a decade ago. I was an alcoholic, and then became a heroin addict. I have since been clean and sober for 4 years, and an continuing to do so with the help of a medication called methadone. It's not perfect, but it keeps me from using illicit drugs, and allows me to function normally and keep my mind and body healthy! I hope that streaming and making KZbin content are able to help me get out of the funk that I'm in. I also hope that I am able to win my disability case in court, because not having any money really sucks. Especially when you can't hold a job because of mental and physical limitations. I'm so glad you posted this video, and I love that you are so personable with your viewers. I just wanted to share my story with you and let you know that you are being heard, and you are making a difference and more importantly, you are not alone. This video brightened my day, and gave me comfort in knowing that I'm not alone. Most importantly, it gave me hope, and added fuel to the fire inside of myself that keeps me going, and doing the right things in the hope that good things will come from those actions. Thanks Zy :) I hope you feel better, and that you come out of this on top!

I recently got out of hospital due to alcohol withdrawal. I was in intensive care for about 3 days. I put myself on Antabuse shortly after my detox so that I am now lethally allergic to alcohol, and drinking isn't even a possibility. I'm glad to hear you stay away from it on principle. I do too, I just also have a backup strategy in case I do ever have a desire to drink again. (Which I can no longer do. Alcohol is no longer even possibly considered a drug to me. It is a lethal toxin, and nothing more, and nothing ever more than that for the rest of my life.) I'm not all better. I may not ever get there. I am, however, trying. And relying on all the good lessons I've learned throughout my life on how to live a good one. Thanks for making a video talking about how everyone falls apart and falls down sometimes. Some people fall harder and longer than others, but we all fall down, and we all must stand up and fight against death for as long as we can. That's all there is. (Well, that and sleep. I LOOOOOVE sleep! My whole day is doing enough things to be able to go to bed and sleep without something stressing me out and keeping me from sleeping. Gotta be motivated by something...)

This is definitely not the video I expected to see but I'm so glad I got to watch it. Thank you so much for making content for us, I can't put into words what I'm feeling when I watch this video. When you started talking about the reason why you would never harm yourself I couldn't help but cry. Knowing people that are closest to me in similar situations, it's easy to say "I understand" but hard to truly empathise with how difficult it is for them and at other times for myself. Awareness around depression is a lot better than it has been but we've still got a long way to go so I thank you for making this video. I hope you get better soon. I may just be another random viewer on the internet but if you ever need someone to talk to about anything, I'm more than happy to do so and I'm sure many of those around you are as well.

Dude, you have uploaded this at a right time. I've been dealing with... personal stuff lately, and it was that event that it was the first time I broke down in grief in the middle of the class. I wasn't sure on how to do all of this, with managing grief, and school at the same time. I don't plan to take the extreme routes, or even over exaggerate on my actions, but I knew I had to go on. You said the words I needed. Honestly, these types of videos are why I watched them in the first place, I love how you make videos about being better at video games, but it strikes hard into the mindset. Thank you for the words and insight. Hopefully you opened up peoples eyes here. Not many people with your mindset like to open up and give insight from their life since they deem it lengthy and personal just goes to show something must of hit you very hard but I hope your recovery takes as much time as it needs and you come back better than ever. Keep your mental and physical self in check hope it works out for you brother.

I just want to thank you for posting this. This recent week i have gotten anxiety attacks and im afraid to leave the house. Its like living in hell, i was nervous just to tell my parents and my brothers about this so for you to upload a video like this is impressive as all hell. Thank you for posting this and get well man.

I can totally relate and understand this, its a shitty situation, its not visible on the outside, you do the work you need to do, you clean house, dont miss deadlines in work, go to the gym, eat healthy, play games, see friends, but on the inside, you are stressed, depressed and lonely, nothing gives you joy, things dont make sense, you dont see a purpose or higher meaning in what you do, i thought its a stage in life, a temporary state of mind when I turned 30, but its been like that for 6 months now and i am unsure if its gonna get better to be honest. Basically nothing what I do gives me any joy or satisfaction :/

i've been always noticing after my friends how fast they are giving it up in their life. I could never find a way to properly explain them how important it is to never give up, to never let it get into you, to never allow situations take control of yourself. Funny enough i learnt all these from playing videogames and following life principles of my fav heroes (Sonic for example). But even though i knew i was bringing up my spirit probably the right way, i always felt there was something missing in that world view. Hopefully I can now learn what i was missing thanks to this video. And many other videos like this one you do, Zy. Thank you alot!

I can really relate to this, thank you. Ever since some people I loved died I've been feeling like I had no emotions at all. Though all my actions were logical, I felt like something was wrong. You showed me that I wasn't wrong. I'm just in control of my life and emotions. I'm not supressing them, I'm just accepting them and figuring out solutions. Thanks again Zy.

Vulnerability is everything dude. Thinking of being in control over your emotions is just a control mechanism of the ego. Once you learn we are nothing, you have everything!

The perfect video for me man at the perfect time. The other day I felt so depressed and angry (such a dangerous combination) because I am garbage at everything I do. No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try always fail. It's just getting unbearable sometimes. Thoughts of killing myself honestly ran throught the back of my mind, because I felt like failure. So watching this video helps. You have no idea how many times I watched the "let it flow" video just to keep myself in tact and on track. Thank you Zy. You have no idea what videos like these do for people like me.

Your not here to fulfill someone's else happieness but only yours because you know what they say, " take care of yourself."

You know Zy, I feel the same. I never really believed my goals, never thought i have a future, and yet here I am. I achieved more than I could ever hope for. That's a really beautiful mindset, if you ask me. Zy, I know you won't let go, no matter how bad it may look. I... always thought you're that kind of person - always persistent and determined to achieve what they strive for, whether they think they can do it or not. Thanks for staying with us c:
