Would you mind suggesting some International school to try out, or a recruiter that you might know.

Hello, I've been teaching in America for the past 6 years as a Special Education Teacher. I was wondering if International Schools have a Special Education program. By the way your video was very informative, thanks!

Some of the schools do, it depends on how big it is and if they can accomidate different needs. My school doesn't have a specific SPED teacher but we have a program that is basically our version of SPED. We don't do IEPs but somthing very similar.

Also what are the working hours like? (Secondary school, if you know that)

Most schools arw going to contact you somewhere between 8-4, and you'll be expected to teach between 22 - 26 classes per week. Every school is going to be different though!

Hello, I just have several questions about international schools -- specifically for South Korea 1) Did you have any IB teaching experience before teaching at an IB School? --- I do have my IB certificate, but do not have any experience teaching at an IB school --- so does that mean I can't apply to teach at an IB school? 2) How many years of teaching experience did you have before applying for an international school in South Korea --- Does Substitute Teaching counts towards full year teaching experience? 3) I have 1 full year of teaching in a Kindergarten class and 1 full year of teaching as an itinerant teacher (this position is similar to a substitute teacher except I was expected to supply in for teachers at 2 specific schools if the principal or the teacher couldn't find any substitute teacher at the very last minute but I was asked to run a small reading group on days I didn't have to supply in for anyone by my principal. So do you think this position would also be counted towards 1 full year of teaching experience as this position does states as a full year of teaching on my long-term occasional teacher form 4) I have several part time long term position (I was an Special Education teacher from mid-Feb to end of June / and a PREP teacher from mid-April to mid-June). Do you think these positions will also be counted towards full time teaching experience? --- (In Ontario, full time teaching is from beginning of September to end of June)

Hey, I'm interested in knowing how you got a UK teacher license and how to get IB certified? Lastly, how did you create your profile?
@ms.nelsonsedvantures Жыл бұрын
For the UK teaching license I just applied online and since I have a valid license in the states they accepted that as proof of teacher training. For the IB ones my school had to sign me up for IB trainings, so you would need to teach at an IB school to be able to get the training. My portfolio is a website I made on Google Sites and update as things change. I hope that helps!

Hi! I was wondering if they ever ask u if u have tattoos. And do u know if it’s ok to have?
@ms.nelsonsedvantures Жыл бұрын
@@ashantypolanco87 Every international school is different. I have a tattoo on my ankle and it' not a problem, with my school, but you may want to ask that in the interview

Hey Hannah, thank you for your videos. My husband and I are really keen to move to South Korea. I’d like to get a teaching job in an international school so your videos are super helpful. A couple questions. 1. When is hiring season? 2. Do you know if schools are okay with moving non teaching spouses.
@ms.nelsonsedvantures Жыл бұрын
@@findingfunsho Hello! I'm glad my videos can help someone! Hiring season is usually mid-winter to early spring, however some schools have positions open longer. Some larger schools will help out with a non-teaching spouse, but some will only give you stipends/allowances for the teacher.

not a teaching question, but did you get your dog in Korea or did you have him before you went to Korea? I have two dogs and I would like to bring them over if I were to get a job in Korea. Also, very informational video! I’ll be using your videos when I apply!

Glad I could help! I got Honey after I came to Korea so I don't have any advice with bringing a dog. I hope everything works out for you!
