Eligibility Criteria:
All info on the website. Access via this link. www.gov.uk/long-residence
Apply if legally Living in the U.K. for 5 years on Tier 2 Visa or dependant visa.
10years continuous residence as a student on Tier 4 visa.
If you have family in the UK
IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS:
1. Pass Life in the UK test. It has no expiry date.
2. Current and past international passport (your home country).
3. Evidence of migration status- which is your present visa/BRP.
4. Employment letter from your current and past employers.
5. Recent 3 months pay slip and Bank statement.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Apply online. www.gov.uk/long-residence
Set up an email service system.
Book biometrics appointment with UKVCAS.
APPLICATION Fees :
Indefinite Leave to remain;
(standard service): £2389.
Super priority service (optional) £800.
Biometrics fee £19.20.
You’ll usually get a decision within 6 months if you apply using the standard service.
Get a faster decision on your application within 2-5days with super priority
1 year after, you can apply for your British citizenship and passport.
Tips:
1. Familiarise yourself with the criteria and start early to gather your documents .
2. Save up money. It’s expensive.
