Eligibility Criteria:
All info on the website. Access via this link. www.gov.uk/long-residence
Apply if legally Living in the U.K. for 5 years on Tier 2 Visa or dependant visa.
10years continuous residence as a student on Tier 4 visa.
If you have family in the UK
IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS:
1. Pass Life in the UK test. It has no expiry date.
2. Current and past international passport (your home country).
3. Evidence of migration status- which is your present visa/BRP.
4. Employment letter from your current and past employers.
5. Recent 3 months pay slip and Bank statement.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Apply online. www.gov.uk/long-residence
Set up an email service system.
Book biometrics appointment with UKVCAS.
APPLICATION Fees :
Indefinite Leave to remain;
(standard service): £2389.
Super priority service (optional) £800.
Biometrics fee £19.20.
You’ll usually get a decision within 6 months if you apply using the standard service.
Get a faster decision on your application within 2-5days with super priority
1 year after, you can apply for your British citizenship and passport.
Tips:
1. Familiarise yourself with the criteria and start early to gather your documents .
2. Save up money. It’s expensive.

I got indefinite leave to remain after 6 months only entering the UK.. I had a 6-month settlement visa to enter the UK and when I got in the UK I applied for the next face that is the 5 years and to my surprise and God being so Good. I got Indefinite leave to remain!! Just in 6 months.

is there a limit (like 3 months) of how long someone can be on benefits, during the settled status period , if that person wants to apply for British citizenship ? I heard that it may be a problem when it comes to the ''continuous lawful residence'' step of the application but i don`t know if that`s true or not. I hope you can clarify . Thank you

Hi . thank you for the infos. Please may you guide me on this matter.? I am applying for my ILR Tier 2 General Migrant visa . Since we are allowed to apply at most 28 days before completing 5 years period, I wonder if it would be an issue if I chose the super priority route as on the day a decision will be made for our application I will be, say 27 days short of the required 5 years qualifying period. The question is that I have ILR now after finishing 5 years of refugee as well but in different case and we live together about 5 years now. Hey there! Thanks for your video. I just have one question about the priority service, so if you could assist me that would be great! I've completed my application and paid the £2404 fee at the end. @@matthewhale5940 Hey Hey. So, it turns out that there are only so many slots for priority service offered per day. The amount offered and at what time is completely random, so it's really just the luck of the draw if you're able to choose it or not when you reach the payment part of your application. If you have some time to work with, then keep checking each day before you finalise things, but I had to eventually just go with the standard option before my visa ran out. Good luck!

With Tier 4, when you get a job with COS , you can apply for tier 2 general visa. If you don’t get a job on time, you can apply for post study visa on your tier 4 visa

You've missed very important points. 12 months prior to applying your nationality, you should not have left the UK for more than 90 days. On the date of application, you should have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years ago(5 year ILR / 10 year ILR ) if you were absent then wait for the day you came back and apply.

If your grandparents or dad were born here in England then yes you’d be entitled to apply for citizenship as a descendant but since they obtained by neutralisation I don’t think you would be able to apply through them especially if you are over 18 years of age.
