The competitions that I find are 1500 to 3000 miles away from me. Won't be doing that any time soon. Bummer!

I always recommend going to a match to watch and see how it all works. Always worth having your guns and some ammo too. The community is so welcoming to new people, you'll likely find someone on the match/range staff who is happy to run you through some stages or explain some stuff during the down time.
