The hunter does not spawn where the tree is he spawns near by, if you see a white dot appear on your minimap approach the white dot and the Hunter will either let you buy the map for $5 or he will try to avoid you and run then you can kill him and loot him to gain the map. This method works and all I had to do was close my game and restart. I only mention this because ive done this multiple times and only got the hunter with no tree spawns. Here’s the deal. First time I tried this, it worked. But I didn’t log offline, just existed the game. Immediately tried 4 other times…no luck. Next day, I tried again…no luck. Third day, I tried again…found one immediately. Checked my satchel to make sure I had it and quickly went to network settings and went offline. I then shut my Xbox off. I loaded back in and repeat my steps. I’m on my 6th map in an hour and a half. This guy knows what’s up…it works:)

If your disconnecting and not getting a map then your disconnecting too fast. So after you take a map off the tree "not necessarily going to be lake Isabella" you gunna disconnect after ya see the name of the map pop up on the side

But if you get to close to another white dot on the map or a legendary animal it will mess your spawn up for the map. If there’s a legendary bison spawning there won’t be a map that spawn in that area.
