I agree... I'm in Sydney, Australia, it is near impossible here. But Wallahi I want to get married as soon as possible, it will keep me out of trouble. May Allah grant us good spouses

Our religion is protecting our mind, body and soul from certain harms. Be balanced in your approach for finding somebody. Don’t completely cut off to people you know or propose to everyone you know- and like this we have made you a balanced nation. Don’t have preconceived ideas and you will just block someone off. Look at the gems that could be around you. If you have a certain set of values- you love to gain Islamic knowledge or you love working with relief organisations or you love serving the community- increase your chances of meeting somebody by putting yourself in places that are near and dear to your heart. Increase your chances of meeting somebody by increasing your chances of meeting somebody- don’t expect somebody to find you. Go out and meet somebody. True gauge of getting someone’s character by interacting with them eg through work, volunteer etc. Example is set in precedence, khadijah meeting the prophet. You need to trust in the process. Tie your camel and trust in Allah (swt). You will realise why you found that spouse at the right time and at the right moment.

Well the thing is I don't really have a muslim community so there is nobody that I know around me. However there is this guy at uni that I have been noticing. He is muslim, I have seen him go to the prayer room, he seems very kind and he seems smart. More then that I don't know. Not even his name... Sometimes he does take the same train as me I have noticed. I would love to get to know him. At least to know if he is open to the idea of talking and getting to know each other with the permission of our parents. I just don't know how to start that conversation. Mostly because I do not know him and he always looks away as soon as he sees me. I do not really know if I have to take it in the sense that he doesn't want to get to know me or that he values his beliefs and just lowers his gaze... Does anybody have advice?

I’d say just make a conversation with him, obviously within limits. If u feel interested then maybe it will b good to try and start a convo. Inshalalh whatever happens, happens for the best.

Baraku Allahu fik but just to clarify the Prophet alayhi salatu wa salams intention wasnt to go out there and find someone. He was not in jeed to do so and that is not befitting him alayhi salatu wa salam. But i think he means that observe those you interact with and dont be shy of asking someone to ask them to propose on your half; because its not permissable for dating. I say this because he may Allah bless him says go out there and find someone, many can take that as to go out mingiling with oppisite genders etc inorder to find someone and we know its not permissable to go and just chat around with the oppitite gender; and how many a people did that and ended up in evil situations. And as Allah says "do not go near zina, meaning its avanues. So lets becarful. Wa salam
