I use kingsoft/WPS, its free and it uses file types that are compatible, meaning, when you send a file to someone else, they will have no problem opening the file/viewing the file. Is this free to people, because you have an online Microsoft account/the way Microsoft gets paid/compensated, is by tracking you/ creating an in depth profile, of what you buy online, where you go online/how you use your computer, what you type, and so on, in which they can sell that information, or create products that are marketed/created around the data they've collected from you/people? I have a local account/I dont have an online microsoft account. I turned basically everything off, in the privacy settings, on my version of windows 10, I also have a firewall that runs along side windows firewall, that's specifically designed to prevent windows from doing questionable things, using bandwith, sending certain information back to certain servers, I also immunize my systems, with spybot, I also use a VPN, I also use things like HTTPS everywhere, that makes sure that every website visited has HTTPS to, I also use things like privacy badger/ghostery, SSL/SSHC, I've also disable allot of services as well, I also ripped out/deleted the diagtrack service along with dmwappushservice, just to list/go over a couple things I've done, security wise, it is getting bad, now that you have to protect, even more, against, your own OS/Operating System. I dual boot windows 10 and Manjaro linux, but windows is still needed for allot of things/its still the most used OS, I like windows 10 as a whole, and after you put security measures in place, but out of the box/a fresh download of windows 10, is not great. Good video though, for those that don't care about all of this, no offense/this is not meant to be a hateful comment, also I don't use adblockers on youtube, unless someone decides to put 10/30ads in a video. You explained everything perfectly/the video is good.

Even better, impoverished people just need a connection to the internet and they have capabilities they've never had before. But, sorry this impressive online service isn't good enough for you. Now people don't just expect stuff for free, they whine if they don't get everything. I have the full version of Office already and these capabilities are invaluable to me. I 've used some of the Microsoft products since the first DOS product and experimented with the first published version of Windows. While I can't say that Microsoft has always provided the best value for me, its progress has been great, and this access to the app is very convenient....much more convenient and useful than a Chinese clone that I used for a while, and trades a couple of nuisances found in Libre Office for different ones in Office 365.

The main intent of this video is to show you how you can get / use Office for free. If you're looking for the desktop apps for free, if you're a student, you may qualify depending on whether your school has a contract with Microsoft. However, any other option is likely illegal / theft. Btw, even with the desktop software, the software is licensed, not sold. U saved my life man. The online method works for me and it's sad that many people misunderstood the purpose of this video... This video is supposed for people that have ended their subscription of their Microsoft office. By doing what this kind person showed us in this video, we can still use the Microsoft apps online even though our subscription has ended. And when the subscription ends, we are not supposed to be able to make any editing or amendments to the files that we have on our computer through offline. I have been tracking my weight-loss as well as my money saving things on an Excel Sheet (I know there are specific apps and things for that, it's just nice to see it and update it daily on an Excel Sheet...and it has been working). I thought I had lost all my progress I have made so far this year and it was actually kind of upsetting me. THIS. I have finished a Powerpoint I am trying to export as a video on my work laptop, and I've been having issues. I was told to try another device. I decided to try my desktop as it is much better. To note, I do not have Powerpoint installed on my desktop, only the laptop. I used this method to access the Powerpoint, but it is useless. actng there is 2 apps that come with windows 10 one that says office and and one that says ms office, click the one that says just (office) if you don't have that go to ms office.com then go to chrome tools and click make a short cut, it will appear on your desktop.

When I try and open a word document or an Excel spreadsheet in the offline version, I get a box come up saying " Lets get started with Microsoft 365. And there are 2 boxes, Start your free trial or Buy. Then if i click in the top right hand corner to get rid of that message, I get a red bar across the top that says "Most features are disabled because your office product is inactive. To use for free sign in and use the web version" What am I doing wrong?

Krykies!! You are a lifesaver! lol All I wanted to do was type up a few pages of notes and that’s it. I don’t need excell or power point or anything else and since I remember the days when office came pre installed on every pc and laptop I get really frustrated and angry when I’m now told I need to 1: pay for office 365 and 2: I’ll have to pay again in a year. I guess that’s why it’s called Microsoft 365. I much prefer the old days when A: it was already on your computer or B: you purchased a cd-rom with office on it and a Key to activate it. But you only paid once and as long as you didn’t lose the cd-rom and the key you could use office for as long as your computer kept working but if it died and you bought a new laptop you could just pop the cd in and type in the key and install it on your new laptop or pc and keep going as long as Microsoft continued to support your version of windows. It sounds complicated but it wasn’t really. Pop in cd-rom with office on it follow the prompts, enter the key and Bam! You were up and running. WOOHOO!!!

As. An add-on, I’m thoroughly disappointed with this system, especially for a MAC! It not only underperformed in PowerPoint, but had enough glitches and errors to never allow the transition to a “stick” that I could use in various classroom situations. The functions in other suites, such as WORD, and EXcel, produce the same results. I’m downloading it as we speak.

could of just got softmaker office free that is made by a ms gold certified software partner and its free and its 100 percent compatible with ms office and is available on linux and you can install it on 5 pcs for nothing but sure money saver

Thanks for sharing this. I tried it and voila, it works just as you said. Cool! Hope the background music feature for power point gets added soon though. And more font choices! I guess you get what you don't pay for. I really am very pleased to get any level of Microsoft product for free (and legit free). Its just that I'm a power user so frustration sets in pretty fast over lack of certain features. Haven't tried the others yet. Will be doing that soon. Thanks again!

you can also download libreoffice or openoffice, which is completely like MS office but without any costs :S
