What people should be doing is creating a community arround your music. Make local playlists, example name it ''boston hip hop'', adding only rappers from boston. That way you'll be able to connect with fans in real life, create buzz where you live selling merchandise and connect with other musicians from your area and get that nice solid music local culture actually helping everyone.

Hey Jon, I am always a bit confused by the different kinds of tracks. There are radio edit and short edit, extended and club versions, original version, dub version, late night edits, uk version... where are the differences? Thanks :)

you can name your version whatever you want. radio is usually shorter. extended and club are usually for djs. dub is a less vocal or deeper version late night same

The only way is to invest in promo. And I mean proper promo. Nobody will play your stuff if they can't see it. Also have in mind that you are not supposed to spend more than 10% of your earnings on ADs. That's how i personally do it.
