Idk if it matters but I did the mine run and it took me 2.5 minutes and I got 11 pieces of iron as well as a few gems, vitalys crystals, rocks and ore. Your method has been a huge help, I just wanted to test out the mine as well
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Adding the mines to the route is fine if you want more vitalys crystals, rubies, or saphrlires! I tested this route with the mine, too! You get slightly less iron per minute by adding the mines to this route, but it's worth it if you need vitalys! I'm very happy to hear you found the video helpful! Cheers! 😁

@@Probably_Senpai Absolutely no problem. Making videos has been my only paying job since 2012 yet I get tired thinking about the time it would take to do what you do 😂😂 I've wanted to make videos like this about Fallout for years but I'm like mehhh I'm tired 😂😂 I guess it's true what they say - something happens in your brain when it becomes "Work" right?
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
@@Lindsay-Makes-Videos Wow! You've been making videos for quite some time! I've only been a full-time content creator for about 3 years. Though, most of my career has been focused on live video broadcasts. I started streaming in January 2020 and became partnered with the Facebook Gaming Platform near the end of that year. Things went great for a while, but content has shifted and changed so much in such a short time! The rise of short form video really transformed the space, and live-stream discoverability isn't what it used to be. With Facebook being my primary platform, the amount of layoffs, the loss of users on FB, and FB discontinuing their Gaming app and Gaming tab, it all pushed me completely change my approach near the end of last year. Fortunately, I've built up a lot of experience editing and creating gaming content. I've only been uploading to KZbin consistently for a couple of months, and I've been so thankful for the way my content has been received. I have a long way to go before my career can make a meaningful and stable transition, but comments like yours really help me believe I'm on the right path. 🥹 Also, I LOVE Fallout. My two favorite genres in all of Gaming are Life Sims (ACNH, Dreamlight Valley, The Sims) and Survival (Fallout, Raft, 7 Days to Die, Grounded, ect.) I think it's because both allow me to be creative and I find it easy to hyperfocus on games that allow that.
@Lindsay-Makes-Videos Жыл бұрын
@@Probably_Senpai SO much relatable stuff in this comment. "content has shifted and changed so much in such a short time" Ain't that the gd truth! There was a time when KZbin was the center of my universe, and it's still my favorite format, but I get zero traffic here, but I'm soaring on TikTok. Meanwhile, my friend's TikTok performance has tanked, and she's taking off on Instagram. 🤣🤣 As soon as we learn the rules and catch a rhythm, it changes. These days I focus entirely on making the content I want to make and posting it where I want to post it, for that reason. If I play to any trends or hot tips they'll eventually fail anyway. 🤣🤣 So funny you mentioned Grounded! A friend of mine recommended it to me and then when I looked it up I found out it was made by Obsidian!! (original creators of Fallout!) 🤣🤣 And I'm with you, I like games like these because I'm a control freak, I don't like when games tell me what to do. Even in DDV sometimes I'm like, leave me alone Donald Duck, I'm trying to mine some damn iron ore, go whine to Scrooge yourself. 😂😂

I'll have to give it a shot... Usually I go into the mine in Sunlit Plateau to get my iron and just do rounds in a certain path, too.
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
I mention the downside of the mines in the video! They're great for vitalys crystals and rare minerals but not the best for iron! The Glade of Trust and Forest of Valor drop over triple the amount of iron that the mines drop on average! Regular paths are what we've all been doing since launch for the most part! This method is unique because it focuses on maximizing your mining potential in 5 minute intervals before returning to the most iron rich biome! This yields nearly double what any regular route could offer you! 200 iron ore within 30 minutes can be achieved no other way that I'm aware of, and I'm patiently waiting to be proven wrong on this! I can 100% garauntee this method is best for gathering iron so long as it is followed properly! That said, hitting the mines in Sunlit plateau does have one really, really good benefit! You can finish the dreamlight tasks for rubies and sapphire! Personally, I want to finish ALL of my dreanlight tasks so I spend a good bit of time in the mines as well. Though, when it's iron I want, I focus on the above method!

Fair enough! I do too! Especially when I'm just chilling and talking to chat. Though, sometimes when I'm saving up for something expensive (like 1000 ingots worth of iron fencing 😅) it comes in handy! Using the Wells nets you about 50%-60% more iron on average.
@Nirax3 Жыл бұрын
Also if you made the bad decision to buy the game for Nintendo Switch, wells are kind of useless unless you're fast traveling a great distance because A) the loading time is pretty bad and B) it can also make your game crash, meaning you'll not only possibly lose gathered materials but you'll also have to restart the game which can take several minutes. Siiiiigghhh... I can't wait for free2play to start so I can make use of cross progression without paying the same price again...
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
@Nirax Actually, several of my community members play on Switch and are very fond of this method! It's unfortunate you're having those issues, though. This was great and super informative! My only caveat is that the background music was so loud it was uncomfortable for me to watch with the sound on! Thank you though, can’t wait to use your method (:
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
If you listen at 25% volume, my voice is loud and clear, and the music is barely audible. (That's with professional equipment) I will say that the music AND the dialogue are of a higher decibal than normal videos, so if you are listening with headphones at 100%, it will be way too much. If you lower your volume, you should hardly hear the music compared to my voice. (When mastering the audio, I made my dialogue 2x louder than the music) The dialogue was intentionally recorded at very high decibel so that those who are hard of hearing can still make out the dialogue. Now, of course, that means the dialogue and music are VERY loud when at 75%-100%, but the easy fix is to just turn it down until it's at a comfortable level. So, in closing, I did this for accessibility reasons because I actually know a few players who are hard of hearing! If it's an inconvenience to you, I do apologize! Best of luck with the iron farming!

This is the most entertaining dreamlight valley video I've seen so far xD Ur amazing man Also is ur character inspired by captain hook from Once upon a Time?
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Thanks! To answer your questuon, no I just tried to make him similar to me. The V-neck shirt is because I almost always where V-necks or open button downs. I have hand tattoos hince the gloves (we can't apply tattoos so I covered his hands) and the necklaces and patterns in the deep neck of the shirt are there because I have a chest tattoo that goes over my colar bones. Glasses and all that too.

Btw. This is great! Have you thought of a method for wood? I was thinking of focusing my trees in each biome near my well and seeing if I could maximize collection there too.
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Yeah! I've already achieved a pretty easy method for this, but it's really simple and would be a super short video! Essentially, as long as you have at least 4 trees, you still get the maximum amount of wood. If you put all 4 together near the well, you can easily jump in and collect. Though, it would take a while to respawn, so you'll only need to come back every half hour or so.

Thanks so much for all your hard work on this! It works amazingly well and love the different options. I want to complete the sapphire task & don't need more gold. So I hit the mines after the forest. Each try I got a bit farther along as I got used to it. Though I kept forgetting to use the well within the Glade!
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
That's okay! That's probably the least important well as it only saves you a few seconds at best! The others are far more important! I still need to complete my tasks for sapphire and rubies! I'm close now but I definitely don't spend enough time in the mines! Very happy you found it helpful!

Mind you, your mining buddy (if you have them fenced in) will fast travel with you so it is only effective really if you're not fast traveling at all. 🙂 but otherwise thanks for the great tips on well placement!
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Yeah! That's been discussed in some other comments! I don't really see a point in fencing them in any way. Even picking crops, I almost never bother caging them up. I'm clearly not the authority on locking them away or how that works. 😂

Thanks for this! Have you tried it with any of the potions? Are they even worth the materials?
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
My FAVORITE potion is the one for the shovel! It makes getting clay, soil, snow, and pebbles SUPER fast and easy! The pickaxe polish however, does not yield iron. It is specifically designed for harvesting gems and shiny stones! It does not work for gold or iron ore. Therefore, wouldn't work properly for this iron harvesting method. (You'd actually get less iron with pickaxe polish because you'd only get gemstones!) Now if you ever need gemstones for a certain recipe or quest the potion is totally worth it and I'll most likely use the pickaxe polish when gameloft introduces alexandrite!

So. This is awesome! But, can I tell you what I do? I just timed myself for 30 minutes and I got 189. I dont use the wells. I just run between the Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust. I use my mining partner. I usually break 1 or 2 rocks in the plaza or meadow on my way, to make some time and get extra stones as well. If you dont do that, you nay we waiting about 10 seconds. But, this is what I did to get my fencing ... usually every hour I end up with almost 400. I try to do it once a day... Try it out and let me know what you think. ❤
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Back when this video was made, I got 200 per half hour, but now, using the same route, I average around 250 or more every half hour! That's because they have updated critical hit chance when well fed and added the gliding mechanics. Neither changes were implicated at the time of this video, so it's even more effective now! As far as the route you used, that's pretty much what I did before developing this route. I wanted to find the absolute fastest iron generating method possible. Though, if you're also looking for stone hitting the other biomes, it makes sense. This particular video is 100% focused on iron.
@Ambeezyyx3 Жыл бұрын
@Probably_Senpai I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to offend you, if I did. You absolutely have the better routine, and path down for this. I was just staying this for those who didn't have everything unlocked, and for you to try and see if it works well! I tried your method as well, and I got atleast another 50 or more each time! I will still use my method, for when I'm being lazy and don't want to move my wells. Like, tonight.. I used yours to make my water tower. ❤️ I did it in about 1.5 hours!! And you know that needs 500! I wasn't trying to come off rude, or offend, so I'm truly sorry if it felt that way. I was just offering another iron path that can work well! Thanks for all your videos and hard work! I watch all you do!
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
@Ambeezyyx3 Haha, relax! I took no offense. I'm just explaining that the numbers have changed since the time of recording this video. (It was several months ago!) I found it important to mention that the standard route you discussed in your comment was benifiting from the current game state, which has changed quite a bit from the time of this video! I'm a numbers guy. If we're going to talk numbers, I'm going to give you the updated metrics. That's all. There's no animosity on my side, and I'm not quite sure what was said that made you feel I was offended. 😅 Cheers!

I noticed in the Collection tab that Iron Ore only shows Glade of Trust and Forest of Valor.. did they get rid of Iron Ore in all the other biomes? My drop rate has been pretty low lately for anything from a mining rock even with a buddy which is annoying
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Iron ore can still spawn in sunlit, frosted, forgotten, and the mines, but it's mostly found in the two listed biomes under the collection tab. Iron drop rates are always pretty low with the exception of the Glade which typically drops a lot of iron. Your buddies won't increase the amount of iron that comes from the rocks. They only serve to duplicate the *last* item from the rock. Usually, that's a mineral but sometimes, it'll be iron.

You can’t cage your companion and fast travel. They’ll go with you everytime.
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I never really cage them, so I never thought of that. Someone mentioned that earlier. Looks like they have to come with you.
@becca4sims Жыл бұрын
So we mine and don’t pick up the items, just keep going to the next rock spots?
@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
I only bother picking up the iron or whatever's convenient! If you want to hit numbers close to 200, it's important to move as fast as possible. That said, waiting for what your companion throws doesn't take long. You're still likely to hit 170-180 easily!

@Probably_Senpai Жыл бұрын
Hey Patrick. That's already been done. It works, but it depends on your Switch, to be honest. About 50% of my community plays this game on the Switch and uses this method. Almost nobody has complained of issues but if you have an older Switch like I do (first gen) it will be more prone to crashing. Feel free to use this method on your Switch. Varying platforms were considered and included in testing.
