Just to make this clear because this wasn't mentioned in the video, if you are going to play test using the multiplayer tactic, be aware that the level might not work correctly, because things might not spawn every time, things don't work how they do in single player, etc. You might also have some lag using this method which could be a bit hard to play a level, especially if it is hard in difficulty. So if this technique doesn't work. You could always upload the level by placing a dev exit somewhere, and the play tester could play your level without any problems. They can give you feedback and anything else they need to tell you about. When you take the level down to re-upload it, please don't include the dev exit. Thank you, and keep making!!

Easy/Normal levels are very good for plays, as people who are going for the 1000 endless clears will probably see your level. Dont make troll/kaizo levels, as those often get skipped in endless Super Expert. Music/Art levels get a lot of hearts. Do NOT make refreshing special levels, as they usually get more boos than hearts. If levels look nice, and are decently easy, people will most likely like them.If you’re going for the Wind Up Shoe (5000 Plays) or the Fried Chicken Headgear (7000 Maker Points) then generally you’ll want to make good looking levels with Normal difficulty.

Two things that I hate about refresing levels are: 1: Many of them require you to do violence to complete those levels such as by mowing down enemies with cars, invincibility stars, and etc. 2: No musical note blocks at all. And no, the special sound effects don't make up for the total lack of musical pink note blocks, even though special sounds and special effects don't normally bother me in theirselves.

I would not write off doing traditional levels. They are a lot of work and you're an underdog for sure but you can still get thousands of plays with good ones. You do need some flavour for them to stand out though.

Yeah traditional levels can definitely make it far on the leaderboards, but it really just depends with the algorithm. Usually a traditional level will need some sort of advertisement to stay up there. If it has a creative gimmick that goes throughout the level that hasn't been done before, it could be leaderboard material. My only problem with traditional levels are most of them are exact same with a couple obstacles and enemies and not much creativity.

The pacing, engaging platforming, number of options presented to overcome challenges, immersive enviroments, flow etc. are all things separating good traditional levels from mediocre ones. That's where the level design lies, not in the choice of gimmicks.

Well that's exactly what i do and i've been keeping up for months and i knew that i was doing it great but no, i was unlucky because my levels were protected from showing up to players. Is this the way how nintendo says “we don't like your course, it's has been setted hidden"?

Salt Meets Gaming I’m thinking your problem is that your like to play ratio isn’t the strongest even though it is a good level. The only way Nintendo puts levels on the leaderboards is based off of how people like the level. If it doesn’t have many likes compared to plays, Nintendo won’t think about putting it on the leaderboard. So to solve this, I would say send your levels to streamers, in discord servers, sub Reddit’s, whatever it really takes to get more likes, and improve your ratio. Just remember, don’t beg for your likes or you will most likely be hated in the SMM2 community. The first 50-80 plays on your level really determine if it will be on the leaderboard or not. I hope this helps!
