is very strange on my Chromecast TV dongles connected to my 3 TVS , shows this Google TV on my living room TV ...but my other 2 TVS is another rooms dont shows it , even made sure each devices is upgraded ..very strange

Just bought a new Hisense U7K with Google TV, but it doesn't show the "Live" tab on the top so I can't get any free TV channels. Tried rebooting it but same result. I'm in Canada if that matters. Anybody have any ideas how to fix?

so august 2nd in the morning in tunisia i got for about a hour the icon of googletv with it's 77 channels using a vpn offcourse after that it went back to just pluto i guess they are implementing it so it's a work in progress lets hope it all come in place as soon as possible for everyone inside the us and for those wo use a vpn aswell

This was the only thing I could find that actually explained that it should just change/update (everything else is just advertising that they're doing this), and that you shouldn't need Tubi/Pluto/etc already installed. Unfortunately neither my 2021 sony tv or Onn dongle have this (& neither say they have any updates), my buddy's 2019 Shield DOES have it, though @_@. (in the USA, btw, I notice people saying it's USA only)

I still haven't got in the update to the live tab. My live tab is still showing Pluto TV channels only. I hate when these features take forever to get on certain devices. Btw I'm in the US (East Coast) as well.

I do too. As a reporter, it really annoys me when I see others say “so and so has launched” when it is totally piecemeal. That’s why I specified in the video. Not sure if you’ve seen the regular website. It’s got a different tone. Thanks for watching. I think you will like it when it hits. There are some other really cool wrinkles in the updates that I am working on too.

​@@thestreamingadvisor And it's crazy because my system is up to date like the day I got the update for the January security patch. Something told me to check and see if I got a system update And which I did. And I just about like 2 days My Google TV home app and the app Store recently updated as well. And I also yesterday restarted my device. And it still saying Pluto TV channels all throughout my live tab. And I would factory reset my device but I'm using my god sister Apple TV account info. And she haven't been answering or texting me back lately so I don't know what's going on with that. So basically I can't factory reset my device cuz I'm going to have get her info again and I know Apple TV is going to send a verified code to her phone so yeah.

the update worked later on turned off my TV when I came back it had disappeared and when I went back to update it just stayed as the old version without the new update and told me my TV is already updated without the new features unable to get the new setup again

Is there a list of all paid subscriptions that have live TV channels that can be added to the live guide? It doesn't seem to exist. Looking for something that will throw all my paid subscriptions that offer live TV including ESPN+. I don't want to buy and realize it only allows Sling.

These channels are the free internet based type. Per your example no it doesn't include ESPN Plus. The closest thing to what you're talking about is actually on the Fire TV. It has a live section that brings in stuff from a number of paid services like Hulu sling TV and others.

@@thestreamingadvisor TY I have a Firestick 4k will look back into that guide. Whoever comes up with a guide that allows a true customizable aggregation guide with the specific apps the user has, is going to make a fortune as most ofg the 'live' stuff on the free streams are delays or re-airs.

It took a long time for me to be able to get the update it was weeks after I started seeing it talked about. Are you doing the manual updates or do you just have it set to automatically do it? I doubt you're actually doing anything wrong. I have noticed that sometimes devices almost need a full hard reset l/atart over in order to add new things. I've done that with my Roku before.

Just to be clear not all Android smart TV devices have Google TV on it because not all of them have the UI Most of the stuff have to have installed as a side loaded app me though I got lucky in my TV actually got pushed out the update while others didn't and some of the Android smart TVs will not even let people use to Google UI that has all these features But yeah I just got mine pushed out to me today when I woke up the live TV section It was actually blank until today Oh and it uses Pluto TV it's not really their own channels and you have to have the Pluto TV app installed for it to work for my understanding and apparently they're going to be adding tubi tv and all these other stuff

I'm comparing this to Fire TV's guide. Does it support DirectTV Stream channels? How about Xumo, Freevee, Peacock, etc.?

It doesn't work the way that Fire TV one does where you can add channels from specific services and integrate them it just pulls a bunch of stuff in that Google has Partnerships with. I think the one on Fire TV is amazing and wish others would follow that model.

Let’s see what they do over time. That live channels app seems to have led here. I have this feeling that some station group is really gonna find a way to exploit broadcast TV and back a lot of money on it and then everybody will copy them. And it will force Google Roku and companies like that to start building things around it. You should’ve seen what they were doing at With Sinclair and ATSC 30 tech.

You have to have Google's UI setup the launcher of theirs on your TV If you don't have it then you're out of luck and most TVs can't side load it either cuz they block it on the TV itself
