An ideal strategy is having : - 1 Fifer/Bugle to boost the potency of buildings and firearms. - 2-3 Sappers, no need to explain why. - 3-5 Melee players, helping the sappers deal with the stragglers, usually a Surgeon, a Pike, and some Officers, you can have a Priest in the group as an emergency button, but don't get more than 2 of them, Priest is the worst class offensively and stacking it doesn't work, you just don't have the damage to kill the horde fast enough. - As much Blunderbusses as possible. See, the Blunderbuss' slow reload speed doesn't matter when you have a Fifer and 9 more blunderbuss ready to rain hell on the shamblers. The ideal map is Hougoumont, on the opposite side of your respawn point. The wooden fence is a top tier spot to set up your Blunderbusses, as they have full vision on the horde, the small gate where 95% of the shamblers spawn is also ideal to spam into, as any Bomber/Igniters that passes through are immediately killed, eliminating their surroundings in the process. It's a fun time for the whole lobby if you ask me, except for the Fifer. It's so boring you should immediately go for the Bugle if you don't want to fall asleep. I made the mistake of going Fifer for my Old Guard run 😅.

As a man with Old Guard for the endless requirement I did it by getting a really good team on Hugomount and sniping bombers with a blunderbuss in the corner

Yeah Hugomount is a great map to put like 7 guys in the back to form a blunderbuss volley, and the rest will be sappers and saber users for walling the zombies while the volley in the back get the bombers and reduce the numbers. I once got to wave 35 with this, and got to hear Scotland the Brave for like 20 rounds as a bagpiper played

I’m late, but one of the best strategies for wave 35 is a gunnery line of about 5 Seamen with blunderbusses, buffed by a fifer. Anyone who already died, doesn’t care or is willing to risk it just stalls zombies at the front.

​​​As for the strat, the most important aspect is finding a good team to work with. I'd recommend going on a Voice Chat server for it, which can simply be done by just having it available. You don't need to turn VC on and you can mute everyone else if you want to while still being allowed in the server. As for the exact strategy to reach 35 rounds, (Keep in mind it is survive 35 ROUNDS in a row not survive to round 35 specifically) I'd recommend going blunderbuss and staying in the back blasting igniters and bombers. The spread makes it easy to hit them while the inaccuracy doesn't matter much due the enclosed nature of endless maps. Then all you really have to do is, well, not die. Stay back, blast those two zombies, and hope your frontline can handle the rest. That's really all there is to it. Don't take any risks, stay safe and shoot away. You'll be helping the team, racking up kills, and won't die unless the entire team gets overwhelmed. But in that case you're probably going to lose the round anyway.

If you're trying to survive wave 35. Here's the classes that I recommend. Seaman, (Most of your teammates should be seaman. For crowd controlling) Sappers, (A 2-4 sappers are enough. It should buy the seaman some time) Front liners (Frontliners should buy more time for the Seaman to reload but to those who frontline might die easily) Okay das all.

Btw to make getting to round 35 easier Be a support class and avoid fighting in the front lines( sea man is good for hougumount because the nockgun can easily spot a igniter and you will need to shoot the igniter so not that many zombies get to the barricade or they are atleast 2 to 3 hits when coming to the barricade Blunderbuss is really good in farm because nock gun is pretty much useless just because if the igniter walk in your rsnge they would already throw the lamp, fife and drum are good eitherway because fife gives reload and building boost while drum gives swing rate boost id not use buggle because you need to be in the front lines to give buffs Pike and surgeon are just about the same because they are useful but needs to be in the front lines If you have preist i recommended using it since that crucifix ability is whack but you have to exchange damage for it which i personally think is worth it The best maps in my opinion are huogumount because you can literally see eveything from the platform which is good because of bombers and igniters and farm just because it has so much room to walk in and juke the zombies

Tip for people trying to get the Old Guard badge is playing in VC servers, people are much smarter and better there than in public servers (it took like 2 tries to get it in a VC server), and use a seaman with blunderbuss and stay at the back.

For the surivivng 35 waves requirement, I recommend going to voice chat servers at the map Hougoumont. For that's where all the good players are, and you want to use the carbine or the blunderbuss and help with sniping bombers and igniters . As long as the sapppers, the people at the front lines, and most importantly you do your jobs properly, it should be smooth sailing.

I have 102 hours with a 40kdr and no old guard. I've tried a bunch but it's difficult as a solo. If you are active then you are in danger and if you are inactive your team may lose before 35.

Ah yes, la vieille garde. The most hardest badge.. yet i have it. "Soldats de ma vieille garde" or "soldiers of my old guard" is a badge in guts and blackpowder that requires the most ammounts of skill and patience, it is given to those whom survived the horrors of war and fight along side napoleon's elite soldiers. It is rare to find one in a server, but it is the most common badge for people to get ( skilled players of course )

Tips for old guard. 1. The endless waves Simply play on a map with U.K such as hougoumont or la haye sainte and use the scottish regiment for the bagpipes because they dont have metronome. 2. the campaign wins Grind for something expensive like pike or bugle 3. KDR Go on endless and stay at the front 4. the objective maps I. Leipzig Follow everyone II. Catacombes de paris Stay on the cannons III. Vardohus fortress Stay at the very back of the docks 5. Finding a good team I. The endless part Go into PC/Console servers for the endless, do NOT do hardcore II. the campaigns Go into hardcore servers, it doesnt matter if its mobile or PC hardcore III. The teammate saves Grind for soldiers grace, if u already have it then dont worry about it cause you would have it done already Once you complete all of these, rejoin the game or press P multiple times. You don't actually need to survive all of the campaigns for the 30 campaigns won, only for the badges that are needed for the old guard, and unless you're on a server full of idiots, (in my experience) you'll have to convince someone to break their legs or just hope someone's an idiot

tip: to get to wave 35 without dying is to get double barrel pistol and bring a friend thats good at guts adn blackpowder and order him to become a sapper and in that sort of rate...youll get to wave 35 (problem: if the server is dumb to reach a fuckin wave and lets anyone to be mukbanged you and your friend need to go to a better server)
