You can always play unpatched and patch back whenever you feel like it. Make a good chunk of money, get some stuff, then patch. You just want an edge to start off (most likely in supreme jerk).

For antique appraisor, instead of going through all the miscelaneous junk, just hold onto all your scrap and trade it back and forth until you get a proc. You dont have to sift through a bunch of different junk items and no save farming is required since its literally impossible to lose money, as it buys and sells for 1$. By proactively looting and field stripping, i was able to have over 10,000 scrap by the time i finished denver, which nets around $500,000 per antique collector proc. Obviously this works better the more you have, but it still works well from very early on and its completely risk free. Just buy all your scrap back at the end of each trading session so that you can keep snowballing the money potential.

@@LeagueofMilk Antique appraisor only has a 5% chance to proc, and it only gets one chance to activate per stack of items. However, when i does activate, it will apply to every item in the stack, which is what makes it so insane. It can take a little while to get it sometimes, but if you just absentmindely spam buy and then sell all it will work eventually.

It's also easier to just have mules do this for you. I use a Weapon and Armor modding mule and a Barter mule. Freeing up that character slot for actual combat skills. Having mules makes supreme jerk difficulty that much easier.

Jackhammer is the strongest weapon no question. After I got that the game became easy. AOE damage and 83-122 x3 damage without mods and stats increase for only 3 AP each round. You can also attach a mod and you can have it for only 2AP. So strong my Lucia went from being the weakest in my team to the strongest just for obtaining that weapon.

This is in patch 1.2 notes: "Vendors have smartened up and will no longer trigger Antique Appraiser on junk that you’ve repurchased." There seems to be multiple factors affecting the transactions: Antiques perk, -20% off buying multiple items (for stacks). I have tested Patch 1.4 with a sample of bunch (40-50) of early junk items. I used Barter 10 character with both perks on: Each loop in the test was as follows: "Sell All Junk" via button. Manually buy all junk back. Record amount of money. Quick save. Quick load. Repeat. Here are my findings: Starting Money: $505 After 1st loop: $907 After 2nd loop: $607 After 3rd loop: $1360 After 4th loop: $1294 After 5th loop: $1462 Here are my speculations: 1. It does work. 2. It does not work as it used to: sometimes you will lose money after performing the sell-buy loop. I was surprised to see the dip after 2nd loop, but was able to recreate after 4th loop. This appears to be affected by the change introduced by the patch 1.2 (I guess?) 3. I feel like this method works best when having a lot of stacked items. It's difficult for devs to code around an item in a stack proccing Antiques perk. Also Stacked items buyback gives you solid -20% off the overall cost. Which provides revenue unaffected by Antiques perk Value of the method in my opinion: It's somewhat useful. It is however an exploit and can break immersion. I would not recommend for the first playthrough. I would recommend for recurring playthroughs for convenience though I found that combat is most difficult in the first third of the game. This method can help somewhat. Problem is there's not a lot of good things to buy early on. If you rush Bizaar, you probably would like to complete quests to get -30% discount from Bizaar vendors prior to spending money. Which is a lot of fighting. If you rush map vendors, you will miss out on reputation rewards they provide. This is also unreliable for Tier 6 weapons that your squad actually needs. If you are REALLY struggling and need early gear badly and Bizaar stock can upgrade your whole party, there's a lot of value in this method for you. If you have a designated vendor character (parked at the base, built for barter and exploration only), then economy is very easy even without this method in the later half of the game. Just sell junk and weapons you don't need and you will not want for money. I use doctor at the HQ as my designated buyer. I see a lot of value in this method for later game in being able to buy weapons back from the designated buyer. By generating junk revenue you can buy all the weapons you've sold them back and scap them for mod components and scrap items. Linkages are crazy expensive and take 1500-3000 scrap. If you want to play around with elemental damages on different guns, it's one way to do it :D

It appears that sell/buy values are vastly different: For basic junk: $3 sell and $8 for buy (this is with max Barter and 12% HQ discount applied) Conclusions I am drawing from this Good: the Appraiser does apply correctly after save-load. Bad: It seems that money gain is super slow and does dip time to time. Final conclusion for myself: it's more fun to play the game using the time you would be spending trying to game the system

You dont need to do this in the bizarre specifically right? you can just use the barter trick with scrap/junk at HQ, stack up the cash, and then go adventuring and buy what you need when you get there..?

on Playstation if you click on a skill book rapidly 3 times i have gotten it to give 2 skills 98% of the time and when the skill was over 6 i have had it just max it out

interesting... there's another glitch where you use the skill book, then immediately select drop (since the menu stays open), and then you can pick it up to read & drop again infinitely I wanted to avoid including glitches in the vid but that is definitely a good way to get OP fast lol

Last I was playing this game, I remember being at an airport that had some creatures that had over 600 hp iirc. My weapons felt they couldn't deal enough dps before the creatures gotinto melee range. Some of my folks died and I had to walk away from the game. Is there a suggested place that I can reliably grind to level up (and collect loot) for better gear? I don't want God mode, I just want to better hold my own in fights.

I’d go to the Reaganites compound after Colorado Springs and the bizarre. Gear up at the bizarre and with the reaganites-do the side quests in both areas-and you should be good. Wandering into the wrong zone can be really bad and the early game is very tough. If you run into trouble try some of the more OP tips in this vid like finding Cheebus the endgame merchan

. @@LeagueofMilk Yup I managed to get it that way after just completing garden of gods and the few things around town clearing the shop looting museum killing thieves etc. My first sale with the toon netted 650 and 800 worth of antiques. I found levelling up lucia's survival skill worked well for me as i used that to avoid the encounters while looking for the vendors that sold good gear.

@@dazuk37 It seems better to level up stuff like Animal Whisperer, nerd stuff etc to get a leg up on those "random" encounters. More xp and loot. I would still level up Lucia's barter when nothing else to put points in at the moment and get the third level perk in it when going around shopping assuming you use her a lot instead of Kwon, Jodie or Cordite.

Wasteland 3 is amazing... great reasoning for why. I hope/expect this series will continue for a long while too. I made only one build guide and it didn't seem to be something people wanted--it's a fire shotgun build. I should have tried making a full party build guide like you said, instead! @@LeagueofMilk Aye I agree, my only criticisms are the lackluster finale , now I get why some folks said it felt kinda rushed towards the end ? Kinda expecting a fight all the way to the palace so it feels anti-climatic in a way. Your companions , you get some of them really really late and also the best guns and armor are found near the end of the game and you don’t got much time to play around in those I am now doing the supreme jerk difficulty and so far it’s been quite challenging but fun , there’s also a hint for this, I went back to ranger HQ everytime I finish a skirmish or a really tough battle especially right now I am at the bizarre stage to heal up and then I go back to the bizarre to continue my next encounter, this way I saved up a LOT of medical resources

the game was too easy, even on harder modes, the game throws the best junk at you at the end anyway, i had ton of unused power armour making the effort it took to get some early on pretty lame. the last boss was killed almost instantly with a ram by the car too, you literally dont have to be over powered to beat this game, you could do it with items, good vid though, good game too.

@@reversecolin1256788 a year late, but for holy detonation, its a cakewalk if you just bring as many pets as you can + high dps weapons (pdw and minigun carried me through lol) for me, I found that as long as I focussed on pushing forward with my rangers, my animals would wind up doubling back and taking care of the enemy reinforcements that came out of the vents for security level, make sure you disable all 3 laser things, then just sorta let it play out while moving towards the flesh door thing for loading dock (warehouse), fight the guys on the left side (this doesn't agro the main group) and use the crane + the hydraulic tube thing; then just push rangers and kodiak forward while taking out stuff in front, and this is where animals just end up doubling back and distracting/taking care of all the fodder in the back for research level, you don't really need to do much, I found that I needed to have my rangers sorta sit in cover since the pets would take out too many of the enemies before they could stand on the platform things (also make sure you use the clone machine in the back) final fight is pretty easy too; you just sit all your rangers on the platform while having your fastest guy lure proteus around to the reactors. your rangers should be able to 1 cycle the reactors and clear the enemies if needed, but again, the animals just took care of most of it lmao (proteus doesn't target the pets too, and he does minimal damage to them when he walks over) tldr, just bring as many pets as you can (stack toaster, bison, etc on rangers that already have pets), and have some good dps; with endgame gear its a breeze even on ranger (running thru on SJ rn, ranger was already overkill, so I doubt SJ's gonna be much harder)

Maybe try talking to Sergei at base. You can create a new ranger and raise nothing but barter. Then switch them in with one of your original four when doing the selling trick.

I ended up rolling a more traditional character and distributing the skills across multiple party members, still very helpful though :) Could you post the chemical recipe somewhere? Not exactly... 1.08 reduced the max proc from 50x to 40x and removed the scrap exploit (that I don't even mention in this video b/c it seemed like patch fodder). Antique Appraiser can still easily net you infinite money as long as you're willing to save scum.

Since we're on the topic of getting OP fast, just edit EVERYTHING in memory. At character creation, I give myself 50 points for attributes & skills. Gold-whatever I want. Use any hex editor, like Cheat Engine. Load the wasteland 3 process. Search for whatever value - stats, gold, ammo. You'll get TONS of results. No worries. Change the amount in the game, scan for the new value. The results eventually whittles down to 1-2 addresses. Change the value. It's that easy to be OP. No need for money glitch, typing in cheat codes (for noobs), or any other exploits. Enjoy. Don't forget to make backup in case it's your 1st rodeo at memory editing.

You Only get extra skill points from int in char qreation.

Not true, you will get an extra skill point on level up every time you increase Int by two points. Only that one time, not every level.

you get skill points in two ways: every time you level up gives +3 skill points reaching every even number value intelligence gives +1 (so at 2 int, 4 int, 6, etc.) poindexter quirk is also a way to get extra skill points, but is very costly

Just trying to help people--some maybe struggling taking the hard route and need a leg up to progress. Others are already on a 2nd (or beyond) playthrough and want to get strong fast so they explore some of the locations/story in a unique order. If you're good on the hard route though, you're doing good and maybe don't need this.

@@LeagueofMilk thanks for that, I'm doing a third playthrough and this gives me a few options on just having some fun dicking around in the game and exploring, I might do a "hardcore" run later as I haven't done "Jerk" difficulty yet either and add on a few restrictions that the game doesn't, like only being able to use the characters I created from the start, the rest being companions I find.. or having no more companions "on call" than what fits in my active party.. that sort of thing..
