One thing that I noticed was once he let the ball do the work by letting the ball drop the arm at the start of the swing, his backswing became shorter. The ball was not going over the height of his head, which is also an adjustment in the timing of the swing. It is great to watch because I tend to pull the ball up on the backswing and it throws off my timing. I also find myself rushing to the line at times. Thanks for this video as well as your latest tips video.

I think everyone gets into slumps at times, even if it’s a minor one. But being able to watch this video makes me feel like a brain refresh and restarting my brain to work back to a more positive thought process will definitely help for sure 😊

I like the letting the ball do the work idea. I also firmly believe that focusing on correcting mistakes is far less fruitful than focusing on doing things correctly/ productively. Knowing what you can actually do and staying with that is vital too.

I took 2nd in the singles event for my league sweeps at SouthPoint this past weekend. I shot 673 because I opened in the tenth frame of game 3 making my spare percentage at 92%. Lost first place to my good friend Gerald Baker who shot 716. He's an awesome bowler and it feels real good to be able to keep up with him. Had I struck out like planned I would have shot 238 but it is what it is. I can't complain it's the most amount of money I've ever won bowling. I'm extremely grateful for videos like this I pulled myself out of a 4 week slump with my First 800 at 806 a couple weeks ago.

my dad’s actually similar; its less about the mental side but about the constant adjustment i make during play. he always tells me that “you shouldn’t move when you’re trying to spare” or “you shouldn’t move from your position that you choose when you use your first ball, stay there” but i can tell that i’m throwing the ball too deep or too far to the right, and he thinks its always “me moving”
@kylerlincoln2982 Жыл бұрын
@@reimbrandt1305 my doesn't understand as much as I know about this sport. That's why he scores like 90 on average against my 170 on Average. He throws it straight. I hook it and get strikes and spares. Whenever I miss a strike. I usually pick up the spares. I always move either 2 boards to the right or left whenever I miss a strike for the next strike shot. You dad should not tell you what you should be doing if he doesn't know much about bowling.
@kylerlincoln2982 Жыл бұрын
@@reimbrandt1305 you throwing it too deep or too far to the right is something you have to practice to do less. I took an entire year to get to where I'm at now. With bowling like 200 games in 5 months.

Good biomechanics minimizes the occurrences of slumps. I strongly recommend holding the ball closer to the body and practice a soft push way to achieve a natural pendulum swing.

@machinethesun9243 Жыл бұрын
About 8 months ago I developed this same problem with wrapping the ball behind my back, and it began when I started playing on patterns that move me left. And for me it has something to do with the body unconsciously wanting me to get into a higher backswing. But to get it into a higher backswing, my body does bad mechanical things like it yanks my right shoulder about 5 inches back and out of position, so that the arm can get higher, wrecking my swing and release. The only thing I've found to (temporarily) correct the problem, is one step drills on the right side with just focusing on my hand under and behind the ball.

This is great stuff brother. I’ve been bowling for about a year now and these videos definitely help. He definitely should try not to bring that ball so far back behind his body I feel like he’s almost trying to pull too much power from the rear with his body momentum. I feel like it should be one or the other. I could be wrong.

How do you keep your hand behind the bowling ball and come around and shake hands with the head pin at the same time?
@kyleb5169 Жыл бұрын
You don't want to be shaking hands with the pins. That's an old school mentality that some older coaches still teach. You want to keep your wrist cupped and stay behind the ball. You don't want to come up the side of the ball at all. That's how it was done in the old school before bowling ball tech became so advanced and allow for things that old balls couldn't do.
@DarrenTang Жыл бұрын
