1: idk what golds ur against, but the golds i fight against almost always know how to dash jump/fast fall. 2: chase dodging in combos is pretty important especially on hammer imo (slight chase dodge dlight sair) 3: sig spammer from my experience barely ever go in the air. Also a lot of sigs have arial coverage so when i try to go above them and punish they just hit me with a sig. 4: for scythe - attacking fast doesnt work at all. Everyone just knows the basic scythe strings and its so easy to dodge out of them.

If you dont know for any reason: battle shield is a heavy styled weapon with massive damage (like 25 damage a hit like, thats cool), its even slower then axe, it lowers players movement speed, jump height and you fast fall all the time, it has a great mechanic, tho, you can glide with it by holding spacebar. YOU CAN ALSO BLOCK ATTACKS! There are some combos but they are not true, so you need to parry attacks.

There are certain moves in the game that are harder to punish, and sometimes you shouldn't even try if you aren't in the right position. For example, if you are off stage and loki does a scythe dsig, you are never gonna be able to punish that. So it's knowing what moves you can actually punish. The short answer is to not be greedy. If you don't think you can punish something, don't try to. The only way you can get used to it, is to actively think about it during the game. And watch your match replays to see if you are doing it.
